I like the whispering and birds chirping in the background, its like a ASMR video. I'm not sure what a constant speed propeller is but, I fell asleep half way through.

great explanation, i love that you keep it simple, anything well understood should be able to be explained simply. This is how it works on some planes however, I noticed on the diagram it says "feather" Most airplanes that go into feather (multi) do so with a lack of oil pressure, in case oil pressure is lost it can go into feather. Basically the diagram that you drew, but the lines to / from the oil sump and oil pressure would be reversed. Also, the driving forces trying to drive the prop to feather would be: a counterweight, nitrogen and a spring in prop hub. For new pilots think of it only for the way it works on the airplane your flying, don't confuse yourself.

Steven McEvoyI wanted to clarify my above statement, its not just so much as the lines are reversed. On the other system, the High pressure oil is now trying to drive the prop to fine pitch, but it is pushing against nitrogen and a spring, and not oil.

Steven McEvoy You're correct Steven and thanks for the comments. If I'm not confusing the matter, this type of propeller could go to the feather position with the aide of a "feathering pump". I'll probably do a video on that topic at some stage.

On speed Condition = oil in lock position because the pressure on Speeder Spring and centrifugal force is balanced OverSpeed Condition= As RPM increase, Centrifugal force increase (fly weight move outward + Pilot valve move upward) directing pressured oil from booster pump to piston to Increase blade angle ( coarse pitch), RPM decrease, then on speed Condition UnderSpeed Condition= As Spring pressure is stronger than Centrifugal force, (Fly weight move inward + Pilot valve move downward) directing oil from piston to be routed back to the engine. Blade angle decrease (fine pitch), Engine RPM start increase, the On Speed condition +Pilot adjust the amount of pressure on the speeder spring to change the Pitch of the blade +Booster pump supply pressurized oil (180psi - 300psi) +The shuttle type valve used on pilot valve (alternately cover and uncover oil passage allowing oil to flow in/out of propeller hub

You have it reversed, dynamic force on the propeller blade forces it towards a reduced blade angle, not an increased one like you said. That’s why a “pitch lock” mechanism was put in place in case of emergency hydraulic power loss.
