I was at work in 1985 in Cologne and had a friend there from Texas. He told me about a friend who was writing songs. He showed me a cassette with some written lyrics from him. I felt in love with that song. It was Simple Song from Lyle who wasn´t famous yet. Goosebumps writing this. Love this song so much !

This is such a fantastic song and performance by Lyle Lovett, and I love the way John Hiatt digs into while listening. They carry a lot of respect for each other and you can see that it is the music and the words in center of attention. Thats the way it should be:)

I've seen Lyle Lovett twice with his Large Band (White Freightliner Blues being the hilight), and once solo. I'd see him 30 more times, given the chance. He's amazing.

) It's a simple song for simple feeling You see the moon and watch it rise Across the continent the night bird sings And somewhere someone hears its cry So disillusioned Keep your head down If you do they'll never know You'll have no answers to their questions And they will have to let you go And disenfranchised Revolution They'll take away by right what's yours And make you martyrs of your own cause When they don't know what cause it's for And all deserted Stand alerted They'll love you when you're all alone But you find a red rose in the morning light You wait the night and find it gone So hear my words with faith and passion For what I say to you is true And when you find the one you might become Remember part of me is you Correct this lyrics - View history Video Simple Song: Lyle Lovett, John Hiatt and Joe Ely Use the following HTML code to add this video to your blog or website.

Hey now, calm down..haha This doesn't need to be a "who's better than who".. There's no doubt Lyle is a great singer-songwriter... come here to enjoy it. Christina has an amazing voice too, you can't deny that. Lyle definitely wouldn't like the "throwing of stones", he is a pure musician.

This is beautiful, although I am not a fan of Lady Gaga or Christine Aguilera such comparisons are meaningless, they sing in their own voices, as does he, as do I, this isn't a contest, each to his/her own. thanks for posting.

You miss my point - it's about taste. Aesthetics. Which has nothing whatsoever to do with 'sales', 'numbers', 'price' or 'popularity', right?

*sigh* By your logic McDonald's is 'better' food than anything cooked by Ferran Adria. And a Ford Focus is a 'better' car than an Aston Martin.
