At age 70 I'm finding myself seeking younger mentors to keep my drive going strong. I love your exploration of life. The people around my age keep asking me if I'm retired or when are you going to retire. What is the point of that. Every human has things to share which can change the enjoyment of life for so many people. For example, to avoid or correct flat feet just walk on your toes throughout the day. That advice was given to me when I was 7 and had flat feet. I listened to the advice and followed it and developed great arches for my feet. So thank you for the focus on curiosity for 2021. The whole year will be much more fun and interesting. Looking forward to all your brainstorming in 2021.

I am currently reading "Finish what you Start" by Peter Hollins. Here is what resonated the most with me in your video. The Learning and the Fun parts. He suggests to see the challenges that come with doing something new, unfamiliar and most likely difficult as a learning experience. You will find so much out about the skill you are trying to master and yourself that it is definitely worth the effort. And the fun part relates to his advice to overcome procrastination. Link the "hard" task that benefits your future self with some treats for your present self. For me this means to make the process as easy and enjoyable as possible aka FUN.

I’m currently stuck on what I want to do with my life, on how my future is going to plan out. I thought I had a very clear plan on where I want to go and then once I started university for the degree I thought I wanted, I decided that I don’t actually like it, I’m not actually interested in this. So, I have withdrawn from it and I am now stuck with what I want to do with my life. There is no 5 or 10 year plan in my head anymore. I don’t know what to do with myself. I want to carry on education but I want something else. After a long and hard think over many weeks, I couldn’t figure out what I wanted, even though now I realise that it was right in front of me, but my doubts have stopped those ideas. But after watching this video, finding out I should be more curious and see where that’ll lead me, made me consider a sector that before I wouldn’t let myself think of. So I decided to be curious, and I did some research and the more I read, the more interested I became. This has lifted my spirits so much! Even if this won’t be the sector that I will end up in, I know that I will learn a lot more about it and I’ll figure out what I actually like and don’t like about it. And that’ll make me carry on being curious to find out more. Long story short, all I needed to make my life better is to be more curious and see where that takes me. Thank you so much for this video, it has helped me more than you realise 😁

Following your truth and do everything with curiosity is one hell of a tiny change. So simple and yet so hard to explore, to find and achieve. I like the playground thing... it really is the "tiny" change. Expose yourself to the greatest numbers of things possible, something will pop up as your way and if nothing will at least you'll see where you're aiming wrong. Thanks Andrew, as always inspiring, even without a script!

The problem I have is turning curiosity into action. I am curious about everything. I struggle with picking out what to do and keeping up enthusiasm to continue things. To top that it is extremely difficult for me to build habits up. The 6-8 weeks in the books is way more than 6 months for me. I know that, because I have not succeeded in building any lasting habits in my adult life that would give me a routine to fall back on (yes I have no routine...at all, not self developmental, but none...each day is different XD). I am getting better at calendar stuff (I got to september-octoberish this year and then the habit got blasted by a move/renovation that is still ongoing). I am planning a dopamine detox for the last days of the year. I somehow unintentionally shifted into one in the beginning of this year and it gave me a huge boost, and filling the yearcompass booklet with one of my friends which has become a little tradition in the past years. I am not completely hopeless though XD When things I do are externally motivated e.g.: work, promises to others, external accountabilities I get things structured quite easily, assert myself, take things to their full potential and have a tendency to work my ass off until everything is properly done. With that attitude it's not hard at all to excell. It is just deeply bothering how unable I am to get the same structure for my personal goals which would bring most of the fulfillment. Probably I need help? XD

This video resonated *hard*- I've always resisted the idea of doing work, having hobbies, doing extracurricla stuff that gets pushed at school, just because it'll 'look good on my CV'- just nope. All I did in terms of work outside school/uni was because I genuinely enjoyed doing it, or had to do for a wage. Did a degree in zoology and then found myself doing a degree in veterinary. I'm a weirdo that loves studying and loved studying vet medicine (curiousity) but the actual application of veterinary really isn't for me. So much so, I've just handed my notice after just 4 months as a practicing vet. Throughout my placements at uni- clinic practice never felt 'easy' (i mean 'easy' in the context of this vid) but studying, although time-consuming and challenging felt very 'easy'. I'm currently looking into environmental jobs in order to fulfill my real passion in conservation and my vet degree (i hope) will have me stand out from the crowd.
