What other tips do you have for improving the accessibility of your Elementor websites?

Hi Dave, some Elementor widgets seem to have accessibility issues. For instance, the "icon list" widget (I can't put the area label). It's a suggestion if you had work around tips for these. Also, where is the source for the script code you mentioned to "skip to content"? Thank you!

Sorry, I've added the link to the description - daveden.co.uk/elementor-anchor-links-accessibility-issue-and-fix. As from Elementor 3.25, the code snippet is no longer required. Regarding the icon list widget, where are you trying to add the aria-label so that I can take a look?

Yes, I will see if I can do one for Bricks as well. However, the concepts are similar, although Bricks adds the header, main, and footer tags by default.

Thank you for your clear video, David. Do you think Elementor should allow users to customise the focus ring per element?
@daveden2
Күн бұрын
Thanks for watching! I think there could probably be a toggle both in the site settings and per widget, but it should be off by default. Then, if the user wants to change the default browser settings, they will first toggle the setting on before making the changes. That's one thing I didn't like about that Core A11y plugin; it hides the focus outline by default, which is wrong.

@@daveden2 It is an interesting future improvement. For the moment we are trying to first get this basic right, but in a next phase this could be an option.

@@rehmankureshi yes. In 3.25, they're removed the problematic Anchorjs and replaced it with native smooth scroll
