Hi, I'm sorry I no longer have the plans, however, the long leg is 19.25 inch from curve to tip. The short leg is 6.25 inch. The space between the 2 legs is about 1.5 inches. Rods can be made from aluminium, stainless or wire coat hangers. Adjust for swr as shown in video. Regards Paul

Pure genius. I'm thinking a single band 2 meter antenna would fit completely in the pvc pipe and work better for me. Putting a pvc tee close to the end nearest the antenna would provide a place to attach the mast without putting as much stress on the pvc pipe because of the weight of the antenna. Nice design... Bravo.

Looks like a great design I will be making one soon. You could modify the pvc length from the pole and add a reflector element that's 5% longer then the long element and velcro it to the and it would about double the gain making it a 2 element yagi that's directional in a broad way and will help your 70 cm also. I make one similar for 70 cm that's portable from 3/4 square tube works greaty

I was thinking the same thing.. Its pretty obvious how its built simply from the video, he explains everything about the antenna. The video should be used for an idea of what to build, but people shouldn't need instructions that say drill two holes in a T joint; if they do then DIY might not be a good idea.

If you construct it for 2 M operation that will also work on the UK UHF 70 cm band as 2 x 3/4 waves. Also a very important point is the 1/2 wave dipole coaxial cable connection must have the centre core as the top vertical rod and the braid connected to the bottom rod. Great design and video report, 73's

Paul, this is a really good antenna design. Your concept is great (easily packable) and so is your execution (clean/neat/simple) and also RF sound. Keeping the feed line perpendicular to the elements for a half wavelength and then running it down the mast is simply good RF design practice. I’m going to build one just to show it off and tell anyone where the design came from and who the creator is. I’m going to store it in my SUV for use when I’m dismounted and need to reposition myself to improve signals. How did you connect the feed line to the dipole(s)? To just one and relied on RF Coupling to energize the other or to both dipoles in parallel? Did you use 75 or 50 Ohm Coax and is there a matching crkt? Again, a great design and thanks for sharing it with us. 73 de ka1ruw Russ in New Hampshire

I'm going to build one of these. However, of all the DIY videos I have watched nobody talks about the minimum and/or maximum distance the curved sides of the rods can be from one another. This is baffling! If you place the two mounting points for the rods too close together isn't it possible you won't be able to adjust the SWR? The two ends will simply collide with each other. So how far apart should the mounting holes be from one another? Thank you! K9JPT
