Would be great if you did an comparison with other lysol or alcohol wipes in terms of effectiveness.

Great review! It really proves the level of effectiveness vs marketing product claims.

i got the walmart ones for like 20 bucks the sanitation UV light. You use like cell phone battery bank to give it power. So you can carry it anywhere too.

Thanks for this review. I recently got one of these too but I can’t tell if my phone is truly clean after I use it. For instance, you know the before and after pics you provided? The before pics had bigger clumps of bacteria, and the after pics had smaller but many more dots. Were they dots of bacteria? I have similar looking dots on my screen after I use the machine, too. But how do we know that the machine isn’t just spreading out the bacteria on our phones instead of actually removing it? Does that make sense? I don’t fully understand the whole process either, so I probably said some ignorant things here. I would like to be educated, though.

Perhaps there’s be a bit of cross contamination where you dipped the cotton bud in the same water

I think it would have been wise to do a control test for each of these so you know how much bacteria may or may not be in the petri dish already.

Do you think the contamination would go completely away if you ran the phone through the UV Cleaner TWICE?? Please advise. Thank you.

I just got the simplehuman cleanstation, but Im concerned about long term UVC leakage/exposure, since I live in a small studio apartment.

I put it in the bathroom so there's usually a door to block out any potential leakage.

Can I ask, where did you buy your Petri dish test kit & how did you let it dry out? I’m betting you didn’t buy an actual incubator, so how did you do it?

Wouldn't it damage the phone sensors? Just curious. I know certain low power laser will damage phone sensors.

There is no way that is worth $200. Landed cost is probably $10. Not interested in giving Simplhuman a 95% profit margin. Would be informative to compare swabs before, after and after liberally using hand sanitizer on your hands and rubbing your phone with sanitizer wet hands which is what a lot of people would do after leaving the gym or store. If there is little difference between the randomly hand sanitizered phone and the UVCd phone, there's n point other than trying to impress your friends.
