Mantra that came to mind when I changed my identity (added to it actually) was and still is: I am healthy, I exercise, I eat foods that are nutritionally good for me and my body. Once I stated these words, I executed and it became so much easier; I “decided” that this is, really is who I am. Eat smart move more is a program that helped guide me that I joined after I made this decision about who I am. Love your content and congratulations to you for your life choices!

Hi 😊! At the present time, I don't feel ANY NEED or WANT to Simplify my Life. I am more than Happy & Content & I'm not Complacent. I feel my Life has been & gives me a Polished Vibe 🥰🥰. We don't know one day to the next & I understand things can happen in one day &/or change overnight 🌃🌉. For now, I can't complain 😊. Whatever one thinks is ENOUGH to have or to do, is EACH & Everyone's Personal Desire!! And that, MUST come first & be RESPECTED💞💞💞!!!

Thank you so much Connie. I too was in a serious rear end collision in 2019 ( I'm 61 now). Post Concussion Syndrome and PTSD etc. My life has changed dramatically since then. I also had to let go of my anger against the young man that hit me, changing my life forever . Been a long hard road, doing lot's of yoga , your mindfulness tips and lot's of outdoor time have helped me accept the new person I am now.

Connie, I have started to slow down as well. I am amazed at the anxiety I can create just thinking about a situation even if it is a month away before I need to deal with it. I also have had Atrial Fibrillation since I had Covid-19 when I was working in the medical field. It comes and goes and has forced me to cut back on things and take each day to appreciate what I have. I am a new sub and I really enjoy your channel, Thank you!

@@ConnieRiet thank you! 💕 The tech told me that concerning results will often show up in the online portal within a few hours (but told me to reach out to my doc before opening, if they do). Otherwise, they will take about 24 hrs. I'm holding onto the old saying, "no news is good news" right now. It's been 4 1/2 hours since I finished the scan.

Beautiful message, thank you. I think we were taught/internalized that being busy = being productive with the assumption that this brings a sense of contribution to our families, our work, our lives. In reality, keeping busy does not equate with being productive and can interfere with being present and finding calmness, beauty and peacefulness in the moment. Giving up control is an important message. It brings such freedom and happiness. Absolutely loved this video. Ty.

This episode was particularly meaningful to me today. At 80 years old, I finally am realizing it is okay to slow down. It is such a hard lesson to learn, obviously. I, too, was a single Mom. An abusive relationship, a sick child, and a second child who really needed me but for whom I had too much guilt to appreciate him ... all this sadness led me to work harder outside my home. Now, my surviving 45 year old son says "You were always working." Thanks for sharing your life insights.

My mantra “ there is only 24 hours in a day, 1 of me and what doesn’t get done, has to wait”. I question myself on what would happen if I didn’t do it, usually nothing so I make sure I do what I need to do and the rest waits. I’m also prioritising rest over chores. Learning to ignore the guilt and go with the flow.

That silent inner urge to do more--I wonder if that is just part of the ego, which we all have (an ego) for I have that voice too, that I, especially I, don't do enough. So I get to learn to live with the ego, like a child constantly asking questions, for which I run out of answers, and so have to let be, the constant prattle, and regard it all as only part of myself, and focus instead on another inner voice, that chooses to self-soothe. I love seeing scenes of Spain!

Such a great video Connie, thank you. I can understand how you may feel about your body/life after your accident. I had an accident that has changed my physical abilities and even now, 12 years later, I sometimes still mourn the lost of my old body. I'm grateful I can walk and take care of my myself, but some days are harder than others. My mantra is "I'm enough just as I am." I now listen to my body and what it needs from me. If it's a painful day I stop and rest, even though I just want to keep going....... It's a different life for me now, but I do have lots to be grateful for. Healing prayers to you! 💜

My favorite saying is in Italian. Il dolce far niente. I do think our mindset that we must keep going and do more; is cultural. Hi..Hi..Hi 🥰. Anything that one feels is beyond their control, MUST be placed in the hands of GOD! If your Brain Injury took you to the place (Mentally) that you are at, that is WONDERFUL! If 3 things per day is your Motto for a Productive day, that's GREAT - if it's only ONE - that WILL suffice 😉. Remember, LESS is NOT MORE for all of us. May ALL NJOY what they have, luv, like & share; we'all will NOT be taking it w/us when we depart this BEAUTIFUL WORLD & all that is within. Minimalism is only for those that can NOT handle MORE than LESS. Again, we'all WILL be MINIMALISTS when we EXPIRE.
