Because for his point the sequence of sentences is all that matters. It is how it would read in a transcript without the characters' names. Some sites do that. Furthermore, he used ellipsis to make clears there were other sentences before the last one.

This episode is based on something that really happened. In the 1960's the American town of Centralia, PA used an abandoned mine shaft to dispose of their garbage, when the garbage got too much they set it on fire to try to get rid of it but the fire went out of control under the ground and filled the town with toxic gas.They had to abandon and demolish all the buildings in the entire town as a result and everyone was displaced.
@spacepopeXIV

Yup. I live about 10 miles from Centralia and its a trip. Going there in the winter is insane. All the houses, except for two, are completely gone. All roads in the area will be covered in snow, but the old town roads there are clear of snow. Had family who lived there when the sinkholes started..

Incorrect on some important details. The landfill of Centralia was located in an abandoned strip -mine pit. That is, an open-air area where they were doing surface mining. However (and the cause is disputed that either it was intentional to "clean up some of the garbage" or unintentional - a trash hauler dumping hot ash onto the area), the fire got so out of control, it spread to the entrance of an underground mine, in which then gasses were detonated and fires spread throughout the labyrinth of abandoned coal passages. No garbage was ever stored IN the underground mines at all.

As bizarre and random as that short Sanford and Son interlude was at 2:00 there actually is a joke behind it that makes its a hell of a lot funnier in context. There was a convention where Redd Foxx came onto stage where the band played the theme song from the show, but apparently what happened was along the lines of him looking at the audience where attendance was so lacking that Foxx basically told off everyone there and left back off while the confused band played him off in one of the most awkward moments ever. It is a random ass joke but it's one of the more underrated ones.

This video has haunted my suggestions for a pretty long time now, for I did not dare to click it because of the intriguingly ambiguous title "Simpsons Clip". What is the clip about? What characters does it feature? Is it classic or newer Simpsons? Do I remember the episode? Do the jokes land for me? The questions it raises are so numerous. The only hint it gives you is the thumbnail, which features the statue of Jebediah Springfield fallen over and a trashed city square. My guess was that the clip could be of one of the various scenes of riots in Springfield, perhaps the aftermath of the soccer riot in "The Cartridge Family", or the blackout riots from "Poppa's Got a Brand New Badge", or even the frighteningly prescient Jimmy Carter statue riot from "Marge in Chains". After contemplating the title and thumbnail many times over perhaps the past few months, I was afraid the unfinished puzzle and speculation would be far more titillating to the imagination than anything the actual clip could include. I wondered if it would be most exciting to just never click the video and keep savouring the mystery. But eventually my curiosity grew too large to ignore, and here I, finally, am! Oh, it's just final minutes from the garbage man episode...
