What Dashen is trying to say is that God is threatening us. That we don't have a real choice because God says choose me (life) or I'll send you to hell (death). Using the KFC and poison example: choose KFC or I'll make you drink poison... but what BJosh is explaining in the cliff example is that God isn't threatening us, but intervening to save us from death/hell/poison. Offering us the good while pointing out the bad or danger we are in or heading towards and asking us to choose life (Him) - that's different from threatening us. For me this requires thinking about the love of God or seeing and understanding God as a loving Father.

Love this podcast. I believed the death of Christ was to deal with the nature of sin and give us the nature of righteousness. The acts of sin, is dealt with continually. And thats what Christianity and growing in Christ helps with. Helps you be renewed Roms 12:2 and transformed and gradually you are changed into the perfect image of Christ

Sometimes we want the new heart and get tired of it so we want to take back our old heart... kinda like the Israelites wanting to go back to eat cucumbers even if it meant being slaves again.

The sin that leads to death (spiritual death) is the sin of unbelief. But if you're saved. You have the nature of Righteousness. 1 John 3:9 says whoever is born of God doesn't SIN Basically, when a white sheeps falls into mud its doesnt become a dog because its it looks brown.
