Fantastic, thank you very much. I was able to fix a new-to-me Featherweight (my first sewing machine) with this video.

Very nice demo on cleaning and reassemble tension Unit,,,,I also when I install the Stud. I use Emery Tape,,,the Green one. Made in USA,,,and polish the Stud,,,top and bottom,,,,then when I sew off the machine,,,I adjust the take up spring timing. Re. When the hole of the needle enters the Fabric,,,,the take up spring should stop moving. By setting the metal plate with small screw,,, otherwise wise. Everything is perfect. Your motor serviceing is the best. ,,I picked up a few tips.

Thank you again for another informative video! I recently cleaned the upper tension on one of my 301s...the stop washer had been put in backwards...😕

Bob, What condition should the two convex pressure plats be in to be useable / perfect? Mirror polish, matt, maybe rough? Obviously clean but the actual metal. Any oil?

I'm sorry, I didn't address that... No oil! I tend to go a step or two below "mirror" finish, but I do buff them with a 1" buffing disk on a rotary tool using a white polishing compound. Wipe them clean after polishing to remove all residue, unless of course you want dirty thread...

You need a set of screw starters, see this video from Andy kzitem.info/news/bejne/onh3spWJq6eam3Y

Yeah, naaaah.. I've seen those and wasn't impressed by them. I guess they would be OK in some applications, but I've been using the claw type, in either 4 or 5 wire, for a very long time. I don't need a 6 or 8 inches long screw starter, and the claw type are so inexpensive in comparison. I can't see spending that kind of money for a screw starter.
