I have the same machine... it is a 28k-9 with Victorian decals that was made in 1912. Stunning machines with a stunning stitch quality.

Thank you for the info, it is a beautiful machine. You explain it in a way I will remember better than just reading the facts. These old machines will live on for many more years - long past the computerized plastic ones!

Hope ok to comment…..Hi, I’ve just bought a Model 28 and the serial no works out that it was made in 1951 (same year as me) ! Sorry about that but I’ve just bought a tension spring to replace damaged one but they seem to be different. The new one being smaller. Do you think it will be OK please?

Stunning! I was wondering also how is it Victorian if it was made in the 1930s?

It´s the name of the decoration. All the different decals have been given names to tell them apart.

Hello, I'm a viewer from Canada , we spend quite a bit of time in our summer at an off-grid site (no electricity) and am looking for a machine like this to use while in this area. Is this for sale? Of do you have anything similar for sale?

You will probably have better luck finding something on ebay or etsy.

You didnt really explain anything 👎👎you didnt show the difference at all , you just said thier all the same yet i have a 128 and a 27 and they are different , first the size is different the bobbin winder is located in a different spot there for they are not the same , if your talking in how they work yes the same but how they look and the size are very different , its like saying a 221 and a 301 are the same because they use the same bobbin and sew a strait stitch only , im sorry but i came to get info so i can tell a 127 from a 128 and a 27 from a 28 but i guess i allready know more then your willing to show us ,

Not to mention the 17 and 18 are cylinder machines, with parts catalogues found in the Smithsonian archives along with sales material for machines made in Kilbowie, Elizabethport and Bridgeport from 1908. The Singer vibrating shuttle line is as this... the VS1 with Lebbus patent tension " finger type" 1884 then the VS1 faceplate tension " disk type" 1885 then the Cast iron faceplate VS2 1886-87 , then the VS2 ( VS and VS hand uk) 1888, VS2/27 then the 27 then the 127/128 I really don't know why he hasn't changed this from a while back. He mostly is correct in everything Singer.
