Kind of a sad state of affairs with music these days when a lesser queen song of 30+ years ago can go number 1 in 20 countries. Happy😊

you're saying pretty much what Freddie said in an interview for this album they had 30 possible songs, he didn't think any of them were bad but it was what fit best together or if he just wasn't gelling with it. the demo he's trying out melodies to see what works then it's just Brian playing guitar, there was a version including Freddie giving feed back and instruction to Brian but that was taken down. Brian wrote the solo but Freddie composed the other guitar parts, he would record the backing track then Brian added the guitar seperatly this song wasn't finished. there was a line when the sun begins to loom, they left that out and copied moon has lost it's glow to fill the song out the music is different to how Freddie wanted it on the demo

@@bluebell3720 Thanks for mentioning WoP channel, very interesting analyses. I have actually found studio session recording (because it's hard to call it demo indeed): kzitem.info/news/bejne/tptjnWaZcKWilaQ Very poor quality and two vocal tracks overlapping, WoP said they used different takes to go with official version of the song.

The first one is the statue of Freddie from Lake Geneva! There’s another video of this song that shows the words and it’s nothing like this one. It was released just before this video. Look it up Bc it’s amazing Queen! It was supposed to be on the Miracle album but they didn’t have enough room on the the album.

It was more a case of they forgot they had it and tried to do something with it. There was a boxset release with additional tracks from the Miracle album which is when this was recorded. You are very correct, it didn't fit the narrative of the album and it was unfinished. So when they went into the archives to get out the stuff for the boxset, they worked on this and finished it.

this is a song written for The Miracle album. It took so long for them to come out with it, because they found it in their archives...Brian said that they went to it a few times over the years but finally had a tech team that could put it together properly. The video is just clips and things that was put together to go with the song. Oh...and the sign behind him said National Scandal...its from the video Scandal.

Linor, I like your reviews done solo by you alone. Freddie was dying of Aids and still sounded awesome on this tape. He is telling us that no matter how wealthy you are or how famous you are, at the end, you have to Face It Alone. Did you notice his hands slip off the microphone at the end of the song? A metaphor for his soul being burned alive by the disease. Chilling and beautiful!

Nice to see you two back! I just love this song, and I agree they’ve made us wait too long for it but as you say better late than never! Such a beautiful voice and those backing vocals near the end just make it extra special. From what I can gather the original lyrics had got both moon and the sun included 😍😍

I would never think I'd be honored to hear a new (old) song sung by Freddie Mercury, really. I lived to see after 30 years, I never say never. I suspect when the CD comes out it will be the most wanted thing on the Internet in the history of the Internet, ever.

What is amazing is what the engineers did to take what was just a demo of a song and produce this song. As Roger (Queen drummer) admitted in the interview single this was "kind of forgotten about," but called it a "wonderful" and "real discovery. The four-minute dramatic and emotional track begins with Freddie’s vocals. "When something so near and dear to life, explodes inside You feel your soul is set on fire," Freddie sings over Brian’s guitar playing. "When something so deep and so far and wide, falls down beside your cries can be heard… So loud and clear." The refrain includes the lyrics "In the end, you have to face it all alone." "It’s a very passionate piece," Roger said in a statement. "It was kind of hiding in plain sight. We looked at it many times and thought, ‘Oh no, we can’t really rescue that.’ But in fact, we went in there again and our wonderful engineering team went, ‘OK, we can do this and this.’ It’s like kind of stitching bits together… But it’s beautiful. It’s touching," Brian (Queen's lead guitarist) noted. Freddie had an intriguing physical phenomenon called subharmonics that he used to drive his vocals to the limit. Subharmonic is a form of singing where the vocal folds vibrate along with a pair of tissue structures called ventricular folds. This form of singing is only used by Tuvan throat singers of Mongolia, except in a more extreme way. Freddie’s vocal cords vibrated at 7.04 Hz - higher than a typical vibrato range of 5.4 Hz to 6.0 Hz. To put it more scientifically, the famous opera singer Luciano Pavarotti produced a perfect sine wave for vibrato when he sang - a value of 1. Freddie, on the other hand, averaged a value of 0.57 - which means he was vibrating something in his throat even Pavarotti couldn’t move.

This video distracts from the song, - the simple lyric video when this was first released recently is best. I am offended at the "merch" appearing here. Brian and Roger have admitted some miracles were performed. Autotune apps showcased something was a miss. A raw, rough take from studio workings back in the 80s is online, but that is likely not the version from which portions were extracted. Queen should have prepared a war room response to address and show how this song rose from the ashes.

Alarming how many people are willing to settle. It's an insult to Freddie. Some guy at a sound desk thinks he can make Freddie Mercury "better". I was four words into this song when I knew something was very, very wrong. See at this link: kzitem.info/news/bejne/rqiMwGqvcqiCeZg What arrogance. May/Taylor will clearly now trot out any and all from their archives, digitally process it, call it good. Too many people now never develop ears. All they've heard in music is digital process sanitizing. What a damn shame.
