This is the problem with far too many renters during the pandemic. They've been taking advantage of the eviction moratorium, by not paying the rent, despite receiving money from unemployment, and the stimulus. First, it isn't right, and it will eventually hurt them. Either on their credit, or by what you sow, you shall reap principle. You cannot expect to stay on someone's property rent free. They too have bills to pay. And I don't believe the funds will assist her with a new place, because it's intended for past due rent. The best thing for her to do, is try to get into a shelter with her children, if she doesn't have family, and get assistance thru one of their programs. And focus on getting back into the workplace, to provide a stable, and safe environment for herself, and her children.

She is an attractive lady and seems intelligent. She is hire-able. This is the conversation all tenants should have made with their landlord: "Mr. Landlord, I lost my $25/hour job. I took a $10/hour job just to get by, until things return to normal. Can you work with me on the rent?" Most people are REASONABLE. Landlords too, especially in these times - they know they need to work with people. And we are all aware of McDonalds offering $500 signing bonuses, and other employers offering $1000 hiring bonuses. ASK FOR HELP, people. ALLOW YOUR "survival instincts" TO KICK IN. Say to yourself "I hate having to take a low-level $10/hour job. But it's only temporary. And I can do ANYTHING on a temporary basis." .

@Christopher Jacobs The future of rentals is free housing. In the U.S., the 'sweet spot' is to sell all your property and become a renter. People didn't believe me about the moratorium being extended but I pointed out the following: "Judge Kavanaugh basically said 'if the Congress will pass a bill authorizing the CDC to eliminate a landlord's ability to re-take possession of their own property if no rent is paid, the U.S. Supreme Court is on board with that." With one piece of legislation from Congress, U.S. property rights are basically gone - that's what Kavanaugh said in the June 2021 ruling. The future is not to own property. Period. It's clear the U.S. population is on board with the elimination of paying rent. So is the Supreme Court if Congress passes such a bill. Do not take that lightly. Fully weigh what it means if you're considering buying property.
@Greg_Chase
3 жыл бұрын
@Christopher Jacobs It will reduce investment in the asset class. In all this, the #1 fact that's been forgotten: 1) "Do we need a supply of rental units?" ANSWER: yes. 2) "Who provides the supply of rental units?" NOT the CDC. NOT tenants. Who then? INVESTORS. The #1 thing forgotten is the incentive to risk money to buy/build and operate rentals. I'm nearly 100% sure none of the non-paying tenants, the CDC, or politicians are factoring in the impact on the supply of rentals. THERE *ARE* other asset classes to invest in. Thank goodness for that. .

*THIS* is what happens when the Spirit Airline trips run out, the trips to the salon catch up to you, when there are no more "Girls Trips" to be had, no Hot Girl Summer.... *LIFE catches up!*

@@lencicollier6492 I appreciate that Brother, you know what I am talking about. These types make *one "bad decision" after the other* then they are the same one's to turn around and ask, "Where is my Protection?!" The same type to roll eyes at the hard working man, only to go home to a felon that's playing video games all day living in her Section 8 apartment smoking weed. If he's not to busy running late to pick her up in her own car. She will waste her prime years chasing after the scourge of The Black Community, and when her kids age out of the welfare system she will "be ready" ..... Collectively on Behalf of The Real Brothers, *GTFOH!!*

@@thetraveler1182 The Unpopular: You're very right... I wrote in a comment concerning this video... "Why not send the two kids to their Dad... until she can get on her feet?" I wrote that... because I knew... there was probably NO "constant" Father in the two kids lives... smh She had one child... and it probably was a struggle... then had a 2nd... smh... As if having two kids makes life "easier"... cheaper... less stressful... "WE" need to do better... She made bad choices... society should NOT have to support HER BAD DECISIONS... The reporter should've asked: "...Where's their Dad staying?..."

@@lencicollier6492 EXACTLY!! I am tired of this absence of responsibility. The "People need to help me" attitude, *No* . Better decisions need to be made. I am 36, no kids. Great career and good credit. This is not because I was born in the most ideal of circumstances, it is because I made good choices.

It was her decision to have kids , her decision to be a single mom of 2 , if you wanted to be financially stable and afford rent you shouldn't have had children

That's not reality and you don't know how she had her kids or what happened to the dad. That's what supremacy gets you. Cute comments.

I'm sorry, but when it comes to stuff like this then move to a place that's cheaper. They have programs for single mothers and little to no programs for individuals who have no kids. She knew this day was coming.
