Great advice I've heard of the key position but not about the final position. I liked watching a rod load in slow motion.

Nice one Ian. Highlighting these little nuances is very helpful. I've been Spey casting for years, but always learning.

Thanks, Aaron, This was the perfect opportunity to highlight this one as the guy is a really good caster but wanted to try and sharpen up the loop. I could see on the river bank what was going wrong, but for Leslie himself [and others], slowing it and pinpointing exactly what going on is for sure helpful. Many thanks for taking the time to comment.

Great tip..I love the art of casting almost as much as catching the fish. I like to learn new things and work on my technique..thanks for the tips. I'm in N Ireland and hoping to get over to the Spey this year.

Glad you enjoyed. I'll have some more in the next while. If you have anything specific you'd like to see covered just let me know.

Thanks for this Ian. It looks as if your rod loads/bends earlier in the stroke. Is that because you are putting more energy into it by using both hands fully?
