Thanks to your video, I finally decided to have one and now I have it! This is a great bass. With pickup selection, I feel like I have three or four different basses in my hands at the same time; with neck pickup series, it sounds like precision. With both pickup single, it sounds like jazz bass, and both or bridge pickup parallel, it sounds like sterling. OK, it is not exactly same as the original, but about 70~80% of each original instrument. However, this versatility of M7 is so much useful for a gig when I have to cover various genres.

Anthony is definetely the most qualified guy out there to give reviews of these basses, his approach is refreshingly BS free.He also writes some of the best bass educational books out there.

Just got mine, and I love it. ( Sire M7) The thin neck and 24 frets is great. The sound is beautiful. Not that heavy. You can get that Jaco or Stanley Clark sound with a fick of a switch.

First, thanks for making that video, "Accelerate Your Bass Playing". I found it really helpful all those years ago and I also learned what a jazz bass was supposed to sound like. It seems you're still helping, as I found this review quite helpful.

Thanks Gerry. Just tried to do a loose first impression of the bass. I'll be doing another after I play it a while.

For those that may not know; If you google fret markers you will find many "side fret" markers that only you will see, so you will always know where you are without changing the looks of the bass face forward. There are some that are actually glow in the dark, great for dark stages. I will be ordering this bass and the fret markers very soon. Can't wait! What a versatile bass. GREAT price for what you get. Nice review dude, thx!

This is a good review of this bass. Just sitting and explaining what YOU like about the bass. Fairly explaining that you were not that familiar with all of the controls. But also talking about how you got your tone. I've seen other videos on this bass and I felt that some people just wanted to show how good they could play. What I appreciated about your demo was how you took the time to explain all of the attributes of this bass and how 'high end' it seemed. I do kinda wish you would have slapped just a little to show a different dimension of this bass. Otherwise really good demo!

The only difference between the M5 and the M7 is the headstock colour. They are both good.

I enjoyed your review. I have a fender p elite 2 and wanted a smaller, more manageable neck. I got a v7 and like it, but still looking at the m5 & p5. I’d like to try them, but no store in the Philly area has them.

The super thin neck kinda bothered me a bit as well... the V7 thickness is perfect (would be even better with a 9.5" radius instead of 7.5"...but that's just me) The 24 frets gets a little in the way of my picking as well, as I usually do so between the neck pickup and the neck. If the pickups were nestled a little closer it probably would be perfect. It always sounded great though...but I eventually just cut back to the V7 Vintage. Fantastic AND feel.

I play an MTD that I am not the happiest with the way it sounds and plays...How is the neck compared to an asymmetrical or thinner neck? Does it feel chunky? I have small fingers, and I can't get a hold of one to play.

How much does it weigh? Does it seem to slide to either side of your body when standing? I have a 1994 Peavy Foundation, heavy for me, chest, shoulder and arm hurt next day.

Hello Anthony, which of the two has a better slap tone? M7 or the V7?
~ Good Day sir Anthony Vitti.. i would like to ask: If the SIRE MARCUS MILLER M2 remove the battery (18v).. Does the Passive switch work without battery? Thanks in advance sir. :)

Thanks for the interesting review! Maybe they should have sent you the new Sire P7 instead of the M7. It's their P-style bass which also has a Jazz neck. That would probably feel more familiar to you.
