I as a chicagoan, have actually never heard these sirens before. I only ever hear the 2001 sirens. I guess those creepy ones are only in certain parts of the city, probably near the Loop district, since the original video was taken in the South Loop neighborhood. @thespiritstingray9359

The exact siren doing this isn't just one individual one, but many. The federal signal modulators and DSAs in downtown chicago are responsible for running the alternate wail. It may have been a programming issue or it may have been done intentionally to allow people to tell the difference between ambient city noises or emergency vehicle sirens, or the actual outdoor warning sirens. All of Chicago's modulators and DSA sirens are still there, but they no longer run the alternate wail.

Unfortunately none but one of them seem to operate. There's one that sporadically rotates every once in a while, which might mean its active, as none of the other chicago thunderbolts rotate at all. You might also be thinking of Evanstons system, which their thunderbolts were part of the Chicago CD system. Those were all removed and replaced earlier this year

Siren head is a fictional monster created in 2018 by Trevor Henderson. Siren head hunts humans by luring them out into the woods via a variety of strange noises, but most commonly United States Emergency Alert System message tones or sirens performing the alternate wail signal. Siren head was designed to stand at roughly 40 feet tall, and it usually stays in heavily wooded areas such as dense forests where it can disguise itself among the trees. From there, it plays its sounds, waiting for a curious human to walk by it and when an unfortunate victim walks by, the siren head snatches them up and consumes them. Siren head has a humanoid shape, with all 4 limbs and a human shaped thorax made of a skeleton covered in mummified skin. In place of a human head/skull however, there is a shaft and 2 horn structures with teeth inside them, presumably to allow for the consumption of humans (thats what the story is according to Trevor Henderson). If this scares you, remember that siren head is a fictional creature, therefore it does not actually exist... Or at least it hasn't been proven to exist (Just kidding, no legitimate reports of any sightings exist as of today)

I lived in a small town in Ohio. When I was 4 years old thare was a tornado warning. I remember looking of my grandmother's front porch and hearing the sound get increasingly louder than quieter. I never that much of it recently untill my friend showed me a video of siren head then it all came back. I started doing research and i remember seeing Thunderbolt and EOWS sirens scared around. I stumbled across a video of a EOWS 612 recored by youtuber siren1000t in Lovina MI. So the siren in question is a EOWS 612. I went to the park near my grandmother's house where I herd the siren in found a American Signal T128 in its place. I would honestly like to own a EOWS siren.
@thespiritstingray9359

Thats cool. As for owning an EOWS siren, it might be possible to obtain one at some point. Im not 100% sure, but I think west shore services in Allendale, MI might have an EOWS 612 there. I'll have to look again at recent pictures to confirm this
