The irony is that Arthur Hiller, the director of the film, apparently didn't like the final cut Joe Eszterhas made, so Hiller credited himself as Alan Smithee. This movie is a joint production of Cinergi Pictures and Hollywood Pictures. Both studios made the 1993 Super Mario Bros. movie. That is a bad sign, right there. Another bad sign was that the film was written by Joe Eszterhas, the same guy who also wrote Showgirls.

Showgirls is Eszterhas' best movie. He struck lightning in a bottle there.

@@wiremuwifebash Did I mention Harvey Weinstein was in Burn Hollywood Burn? Don't ask. Apparently he plays a private investigator named Sam Rizzo. One of the bullet points listed is that he's a "friend to the stars". Not anymore he isn't.

This might have worked if they let Eric Idle write the script. But there were a lot of injokes that only someone really familiar with the Hollywood industry would get. And late in the movie, Harvey Freaking Weinstein shows up. "Friend of the Stars" reads his caption, and boy did THAT age badly....

First film made about Alan Smithie. Last film made using "Alan Smithie". Enough said.

"The Brothers Brothers" was also used in regular sketches on In Living Color with a duo of very white-acting black men. Cheer up Eric Idle, you know what they say--some things in life are bad, they can really make you mad...

My least favorite movie and I'm glad to hear them stick the boots to it. Their assessment was on the money - besides being all-tell no-show, Estherhaz was far more interested in grinding his ax and writing straw man characters and going after lowest common denominator humor that he forgot to write anything good.

I would rather watch Kirk Cameron's "Saving Christmas" and Uwe Boll's "House Of The Dead" than this piece of shit movie. I'm not even joking. I went insane after the first MINUTE of it.
