I was listening to another podcast and they mentioned you and john and said seems like john is in a hostage situation. I died laughing. John, youre the best! Nikki, thanks for always bringing us the latest tea.

Y'all crack me up. Kody being a jerk with a smile is 100% on point. This episode infuriated me even the first time I saw it.

I love that John insulted Kody's manhood by questioning Kody's ability to perform with all the wives! I was here for it! 😂😂😂

I would have left my husband there on the beach! I've been married for 15 years and we've been together for 20. I was young when I got married but I knew that I deserved respect from my husband. I don't think those women thought very highly of themselves and never thought they could do better. Those kids also suffered because of that.

Guarantee Robyn cried about she or her kids being left out. Someway, Somehow right before Christine’s garbage vacation, Robyn twisted a screw looser in Kody’s brain. John’s Kody smile impersonation was on point, really creepy. Thanks for rewatching some of the episodes that I don’t want to

I’m married 48 years, and in my experience sometimes it can be a good idea to ‘put off’ a particular hard discussion, if for no other reason than to allow emotions to settle. But I’m a hothead so that could be a factor lmao. It works better when both of us are on the same page as far as approach, so we will bench a discussion to a later date, but it will happen at some point.

This is when I was waiting for them to leave! I began yelling at them through the tv. Because I think he was showing his true self. I felt so bad for the og3 for so long. I am so excited to see them all get a happy ending and R&k to fail.

I've said that for awhile, that Kody most likely suffered from ED issues as he aged so blamed the women. Even if he was attracted to Robyn, Robyn is younger, they do not use birth control and notice how Robyn never got pregnant again after Ari. The difference is Robyn would most likely tolerate going without sex, letting the others jealously think their sex life was good because she benefitted so much being financially WELL taken care of as well as having all Kody's attention and help raising her kids.

As someone who had a "sexless marriage" for most of a decade- I promise that 10 times a year is waaaayy too seldom. 😅 Definitely feels awful.

That was my main thought: the counselors were following the rules and not scolding/judging his behavior, but they also didn't help him see how absolutely invalidating and demeaning his treatment of Christine was, and how he refused to hear even one word of what she was trying to communicate. I mean, nancy asks them to make something that symbolizes "their anniversary," (I rewatched this section because I wanted to hear what directions they were given), and he insists on making something about the family? She had said it should be about their anniversary, and it could be about how many years they've been together or how many children they have. Nancy makes no comment on that? Then, Kody says to her face, "honor the family and I will love you." Okay, so your love is conditional. What does Christine honoring the family look like to you? What are the strings you're attaching to your "love," because "honoring the family" seems very nebulous to me. That's a target he can move around on her so that she's never winning, she's never worthy of his love in his mind. This man infuriates me more every episode. I would be interested to hear therapists' thoughts on how these counselors handled them. I mean, I think there's limited ability to have an impact because they don't see them often. Nancy doesn't really have Kody's trust, and she probably knows it. If she digs into showing him how much growth he would need to do to become a half decent husband, he'll write her off entirely. Then Pat validates him, but some viewpoints aren't valid. I can't blame them for the fact that Kody is perpectually self-centered and immature. That's not their fault, but I also wanted to see them challenging him more (or some at all).

Kody's big smile when he's being offensive and saying hurtful things is so annoying! He looks so dumb and mean at the same time. Like he wants to hurt you and you to know he's not interested in your opinion or feelings. He's so used to always getting his way and others, the 3 og wives and the shoe, paying for his life and doing all the practical stuff for him. We know Robbem is not willing to work; wonder how these two will live now left to their own device.

By season 8/9, the masks were majorly slipping. Kody was already showing the angry patriarchal tendencies long before Flagstaff. Worse than Kody's blatantly awful behavior during the rock exercise is Janelle took Kody's side in a later tell all! Janelle went all in with the Christine is a bratty princess narrative on more than one occasion.

I really enjoy hearing your views of the show, and I often agree with you. That being said, can Nikki please try to stop scream-talking. It gives me a headache to watch all the way through, so I listen in segments. Just a suggestion.
