Change can now be seen in the ARMM.
Celebrities like Sam Pinto compliment ARMMs beautiful islands and peace loving locals. Featured in this video are tourist spots and project developments in the towns of Sitangkai and Panampangan island of Sapa Sapa, Tawi Tawi.
Similar to islands in Maldives and more beautiful than Boracay, the beautiful island of Panampangan is a marine conservation island teeming with life - beds of corals and some of the world’s endangered sea turtles swim in its waters.
Your feet will half-sink on the island’s fine white sand - so fine and so white you will mistake it as confectioner glistening on the shore. Panampangan is a 10-hectare, uninhabited, pristine, white sand beach island in Tawi-Tawi.
Sitangkai on the other hand is hailed as the Venice of the South because of its waterways resembling that of Italy’s renaissance city of Venice. Sitankai’s evenly laid bridges also remind us of Czech’s hailed most beautiful city of the world - Prague, which first came to be known as the city of bridges due to bridges that stretch every block of its moat-liked river - a feature so prominent in Sitangkai’s islands that can never go unnoticed.
As an old town that was able to preserve its arts, architecture, culture and traditions, Sitangkai has a great potential for tourism. Sitangkai also exhibit what Filipinos are known for around the world - big smiles, happy waves and warm welcome of the locals that will surely make your stay in this town longer than you intend to.
With the massive infrastructure projects implemented in Tawi-Tawi since 2012, access to the province’s most beautiful islands like Panampangan is now made easier.
With islands which can be likened to that of the Caribbean’s, Tawi-Tawi’s underappreciated and unexplored tourism potential could turn the province into one of ARMM’s tourism capitals. In consonance with the Hataman administration’s development agenda, more infra projects such as water systems, pier heads, shore protection and road projects allocated for in the next three years, Tawi-Tawi as becoming ARMM’s tourist capital is not so distant from the present.
