I have used the Sikta Apex pack over the last year primarily while hunting in the Western US for Mule Deer and Antelope. The Sitka Apex pack is a quality hunting pack, but has a few areas that don't work for how I prefer to hunt. The Sitka Apex pack doesn't handle weight the best, and if you utilize Nalgene water bottles versus a water bladder the side pockets are too shallow for use. The main compartment of the Sitka Apex pack would be well served to have a clam shell opening versus the more traditional style opening it has. With how the main compartment unzips, the Sitka Apex pack can make it difficult to locate items that are in the pack itself.
If you hunt elk in heavy timber, and don't rely heavily on transporting optics, you may find the Sitka Apex pack to meet your needs. If you are using optics like a spotting scope and carrying a bit more weight, you may find the Sitka Apex pack lacking for your needs.
