Continuing the Administration’s commitment to providing immediate assistance to calamity-stricken areas, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. presides over a situation briefing on the effects of Super Typhoon ‘Julian’ at the Ilocos Norte Provincial Capitol in Laoag City on October 4, 2024.
Key government agencies, including the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), and Department of Agriculture (DA) provide updates on the ongoing relief and rehabilitation efforts in the area.
Before the briefing, the Chief Executive conducted an aerial inspection of Ilocos Norte to assess the damages caused by Super Typhoon ‘Julian’ and led the distribution of aid under the 'Ayuda Para sa Kapos ang Kita' (AKAP) program for the 5,800 affected residents.
Infrastructure damages in Ilocos Norte are estimated at over PhP384 million, with agricultural losses nearing PhP87 million.
