I attended SIUE in the mid to late 1980s. I majored in Management. I can honestly attest to the inferior quality of Cougar Village housing (used to be called Tower Lake Apartments). On the 500 side, the walls had no insulation and probably still don't. If you wake up on a winter morning and the temperature outside is below freezing, don't be surprised to see a big patch of frost on the wall next to your bed. There's more to dislike about SIUE, but the on-campus housing is only the beginning.

Just a suggestion: it would be nice if we could get a slow walkthrough the apartment without the tour guide. The person filming barely walked into the bedrooms, so all we can really see are the beds, and it's hard to see what the room actually looked like. That would definitely help future students with figuring out how they want to organize their room.

Also: We are told there's a laundry room, a computer lab, a fitness room and a place to pick up our mail. We are shown the laundry room, but show us what we need to do/where to go to pick up our mail, show us the lab and fitness room. You don't even necessarily need a tour guide, just show us. Not everyone can easily visit the campus, so the more the better.

Right behind the front desk and down the stairs is where the mailbox’s are for each apartment. All you have to do is use your key to open up the lock boxes for your mail.

Laundry room is just left of the front desk and the computer lab is also in the same building. It’s all at the “common” building. The commons arent at all far from any of the apartment buildings.
