Thanks for your beautiful performances! I'm happy to see you enter the Yagling fan club. I'm not aware of anyone else playing this solo suite in the US besides you and me. I know a couple of American cellists played it in 1982 before and at the Tchaikovsky Competition, but no one since then until 2019.

@@maestroukr Thank you for listening! And I'm pretty sure it's because of you that I found that piece. I definitely want to play more of her music, I need to get a concerto happening.

@@DianeChaplinCellist She has three concertos and a Suite for cello and string orchestra, for which I created a piano reduction. Her short pieces and third cello sonata are quite attractive. I have an old Soviet edition of the sonata. The fourth sonata is really cool but very different from the third.

The Yagling is ridiculously good. I think if it were more widely known/played it could become a staple like the Hindemith or the Crumb. Great performance!! So evocative and emotional.

@@thewildcellist Thanks Corbin - it's just a mystery to me that no one even knows who she is. I totally agree that it is as good as piece as most standard rep. I'm really looking forward to learning more of her works.
