Üsküdar'a (performed on the Oud by Soujit)
”Üsküdar'a Gider İken" ("while going to Üsküdar") is a Turkish folk song about someone's clerk (kâtip) as they travel to Üsküdar. The tune is a famous Istanbul, and is spread beyond Turkey in many countries, especially in the Balkans.
The oud (Arabic: عود) is an Arabic short-neck lute-type, pear-shaped, fretless stringed instrument, usually with 11 strings. Popular in Turkey, and also throughout the middle-east.
