This is the best “That figure skating show” episode I’ve ever seen! I enjoy the video clips that are being played that give us more visual. And how wonderful to see Asher’s energy and passion just shining through all those professional and insightful comments. Just love it!

Asher as a fellow Canadian much thanks for providing a great balanced and MUCH less catty/snarky show than 'The Skating Lesson' and for keeping the commentary honourable - the figure skating fandom has become super toxic over the last 5 years and I will look forward to seeing more from you

Agree. With Asher, it's about the athletes and their performances with his sense of enjoyment and respect towards the athletes' work. With "The Skating Lesson", it feels like Me Me Me and my gossips.

loop jumps are very tough for us tall guys. I landed a triple sow back in the day but double loop was always a scary jump for me at 6'2" - if that back foot edge gives out on you with your taller weight distribution you crack your head HARD like a snowboarding fall on the ice

Dear CBC Sports: Please find a better narrator. Wrong tone, too chatty and distracting. Narration is not supposed to be the primary focus. Also, it is not necessary to see the narrator, especially looking up at the ceiling, searching for the right word.

I was there and two things tv doesn’t show is that her speed is on the slow side and ice coverage is still junior-ish.
@Rachel-rs7jn
Жыл бұрын
@@susanlange5003 Yes exactly. Even during the practice sessions, when Kaori would do her run-throughs the other skaters were plastered against the boards to avoid her. She's so fast they never knew where she'd be. When Isabeau did her run-throughs the other skaters barely had to pay attention because she leaves so much time to get out of her way. Isabeau definitely does have something special but I agree that she still does look like a junior compared to the rest.
@Panda-lu9jy
Жыл бұрын
Isabeau doesn't has jump qualities. Isabeau doesn't has puberty growth yet. I'm wondering how her jumps can hold up 3-4 years later. Alysa Liu's jumps (look her up at World Championship) are way better than Isabeau's jumps. Lots of Isabeau's jumps are under rotation especially her jumps in second half program. Honestly, I think both Isabeau and Kaori are way overscored at Skate America. Who skates the best? Kamila. Look up Kamila latest skates at Test skates of the Russian team 2022. Kamila's performance will blow your mind away. Kamila doesn't has quad but her triples are millions times better than Kaori and Isabeau. Isabeau and Kaori skates look juniorish compared to Kamila.
