It is pretty unbelievable. You can probably count the number of 60 year old skaters on two hands. Most 60 year olds can barely wipe themselves, let alone get up after a wipeout. My parents started a care home to be able to afford to take care of my grandfather. If any of those 60 something’s tried this, they would die from breaking a hip. Seeing that guy skate is like watching a woman lift a car off of her child. It’s like witnessing a miracle. It’s amazing what taking care of your body can do.

Steve Alba was a skater god when I was a kid growing up in SoCal. Him and his crew showed up to skate an empty neighborhood pool that sat on property to be developed for an apartment in the late 70’s(which subsequently was destroyed in the 94’ Northridge earthquake). My friends and thought we were so cool with our own local pool, but we just had to sit back and get tutored on how to shred. I’d drain my pool now to let them show up and skate it, too bad it’s of the big rectangular design, not optimal like the kidney shapes. Though my dad let us skate it one summer and we still had some great sessions in it before it got replastered. Good times, good times…

Cleaning pools since the 70s. People probably don't realise that skaters come in all ages these days. They don't get to mid 20s and suddenly decide that's me done. Look after yourself and u can last years. Bony Dawk is in his 50s and still skates well. Sure, many older skaters are probably dealing with repercussions of bad past injuries, but that's part of skating. There are even pro street skaters in late 30s still as good as they were 20 years earlier.
