Why is he changing those tires? Shit, I could get another 300 hours on those old tires.

Dude, you better hope your Dad has a plan to get you off the road. Your back won't last 5 years the way you abuse it.

Every mechanic can learn from other mechanics. When I need to raise something heavy that isn't conveniently self-lifting like the front of a skid steer I use 6x6 and 4x4 cribbing and lift with my simple airbag jack I made from a new big rig bag. Pneumatic lifts are fast, easy to carry and don't weigh much. I studied first responder cribbing techniques online (they're highly evolved to be fast and safe) then copied success. I drill the ends of my cribbing for ropes (see pix of USAF wooden aircraft chocks, which remain at many bases because plastic chocks skid on concrete) so I can quickly pull or place them and carry them much more comfortably than unroped chocks. That pickup would GREATLY benefit from a liftgate, which are cheap used and so simple you can fix them with very basic tools if they ever malfunction. Lifting tires destroys backs but yours can last many years longer by incorporating lifting equipment where most people do not. Never having to manually lift a tire or wheel assembly into you truck is a MUCH bigger deal than most people think it is. Liftgate makers sell adapters for common truck beds but they're not hard to fab. Get used liftgate, install adapters to bed (I painted the bed side of my adapters with windshield sealant to prevent rust from moisture intrusion) then raise gate and bolt on. I used taper bars to align mine (see how ironworkers align bolt holes). If you weld a lifting eye to both top ends of your liftgate you can easily lift it with an engine hoist etc. Liftgates can be tested with jumper cables or a large jump pack. A fair used price is from ~300 bucks for a crusty but reliable gate, more if it's pretty. Power is one fused lead to the engine compartment but you can and I have used a jump pack while waiting for a convenient time to hardwire. I run leaf spring overloads and Timbrens on my 2000 F150 since they do not conflict. My bro was a tire guy for many years but then his back gave out (avoid slingling tires sideways) and he died relatively young and very poor. Mechanics and automotive techs frequently damage their backs by "git 'er dunitis". Slow is smooth and smooth is fast. Your body is your moneymaker so be creative.

Good job. And sometimes when you use the bucket it creeps down and then you can't gain access to the door.. Blocks you from getting into the cab without removing the door. 2 jacks in the back and one in the center of the front. Six-by-six or 8 by 8 cribbing in between the tires for safety

Just curious what pry bar tire irons he's using. Are they 41 inches long or shorter? I Think without those specific tools yes it would be very difficult.
