I love this movie. Nowhere near the disaster I'd been lead to believe. There's a lot going on. I think measuring the familiar faces with how you know them is a mistake. The last segment could use some editing, but it's filled with little things that don't register until multiple viewings. Who would've guessed that Groucho's last scene on a screen would have him sharing a joint?

The intention is to make persons laborers as a fashion lifestyle, living their lives in small apts in crowded population centers with their little electronic artifacts (Huxley, Orwell). There is a tendency to eliminate middle class. If so, we'll agree to create a world leaded by large corporations with just two classes: directors and workers. The world as production relation. This is the message behind movies like this. The problem is the "One is the loneliest number that I ever heard".
@maxinemckenzie6076

I thought it was funny, full of counter-culture insider jokes and worth it for the relative accuracy of the Tripping sequences! If you've dropped Acid or Mushrooms enough you'll totally get it. "23 enigma" references abound too. 23 Skidoo MR Burroughs. Hip L.S.D Films are a rarity. a total gas baby, a satire that reminded me of Terry Southern's "The Magic Christian. Some of the messages are still controversial actually. It's loads better than most of the really silly sixties movies, oh it's up there with....er, "Candy". Remember Kids, Turn on, tune in, and drop out...before the Syndicates of the world immanentize the Eschaton.🕉🍄🎶♒

+The Tone Poets I saw this some years back on the late show, and realized I had witnessed genius. The fact that my favorite comedian (himself a genius) loves this movie only reinforces my original opinion. It sort of reminds me of DR. GOLDFOOT AND THE BIKINI MACHINE (which starred both Frankie Avalon AND Fred Clark) with a budget and a great cast. Fred Clark dropped dead right after making this, and who could blame him. And NOTHING can kill an erection quicker than seeing Carol Channing in a miniskirt. Otto Preminger eventually succumbed to Alzheimer's disease. I think it started here.

Everyone in this movie was too old to be hip and cool. Quite square and lame. The median age of the actors was about 50, so if I may quote Abe Simpson: “I used to be with ‘it’, but then they changed what ‘it’ was. Now what I’m with isn’t ‘it’ anymore and what’s ‘it’ seems weird and scary. It’ll happen to you!”

what's interesting about this film now is that it's so late 1960s hollywood hippy americana it's a pro drug film, a decade before Cheech and Chong just not as good, 'i love you alice b toklas' is actually a better film thanks to the lead with Peter Sellers . Skidoo was missing a good comedic lead, too bad they did not get Peter Sellers , who was busy making the Party.

One can't watch this movie with the same state of mind of someone watching Twilight, Lord of The Rings or Avatar. Need to get that was going on intellectually in late sixties. Nothing here is to take it seriously. That's the Point. Do what nobody has courage to do. We're entering now into an uninspired period for art thanks to heavy money instincts. Bad instincts. Media will make persons think about themselves as the Number 1. Felling special will make them better workers for large corporations.

This flick is the equivalent of your grandad talking in today's teenagers slang thinking he's so hip, impressive and up to speed with the times, but in reality all that he accomplishes is embarassing himself. These old farts, Preminger and whoever wrote this pathetic romp, had lost touch with the times long before the love generation bloomed.
