Skip here,
I am building V2.0 for those interested ( See this vid's description for further details • Skips case annealer v1... )
My DIY home made case annealer v1.6 final build.
I have a little left to do but this is pretty much it. I'm happy with it. But this is what i did for 4 hr's today with hand tool's and some power tools.
90% of parts sourced for the build come from eBay and most of it came from china. ( I know it's not the same gear i had ) If i used the same gear the build cost would of been less.
12 volt PSU ( $16 ) it's for led light strips, can use just about use any 12 volt power supply.
2x 25rpm 8mm shaft 12 volt motors ( $16) ( if your using just large cases then the 8rpm version will be better, also cheaper.
2x on/off + turn pot digi read out speed controller ( $16 ) not really needed if using just large cases but I would recommend for doing all sizes of cases.
5" ( 125mm ) cake tins ( ally ) $2 each ( I brought 4 ) $8 total
Blots+nuts ( $5 )
Everything else I had laying about to use for the build like wire, screws, liquid nails, tools to make this annealer. Tools used were a jigsaw, drill, drill bits, screwdrivers, spanner, grinder, hammer, hand files, ruler, pencil, dremmel for the finer touch ups. Mostly all tools you can find in the shed. The case feeder drum was milled out using a jig and a bench vise with a router bit on the dremil ( takes longer to do then on a mill ) it's just 50x50mm cheap plastic round bar I got for a few bucks. ( 300mmx50 $10 ) enough to make a few of them.
As to plans well no plans all off the head as I went, thanks Greg and Adam for the brainstorming. I'm happy how this turned out, now just for the finer touches. But this is the final build for me :)
For about $60 you can build your own auto annealer. But it's about $20 to built the manual feed like my first video.
So you can go and build your own annealer for cheap and with a bit of time on your hand's. Or you can spend big $$$ on a factory built one.
Again i want to thank Mr Longrange for his inspiration on the annealer and to the guy's on our forum. Loved working on this project it's been fun.... But now she is almost done. :)
