If you find that the focuser is too loose you can remove it and place strips of tape on it and build up the surface area. That is what I had to do to one of my telescopes.

Do you think it’s the best telescope for around 250 quid?was looking at the skyhawk 1145p but this one seems better.tbh I’m a total novice though!

Hi Stephen, The Skyhawk 1145p has a 114mm aperture, but does that have a go-to mount ? The 130 has 16mm more aperture so would collect a little more light but is a fully manual telescope whereas a 'go-to' actually goes to the target if set up correctly (polar aligned). If I was to start over again would I have this telescope 🤔 I would probably save a little more to get better. I hope this helps with your journey into Astronomy, and thanks for watching & commenting 👍 😎 (I'm still a beginner too) Clear Skies 👍👍

I watched this vid again and just noticed that at 1:12 your collimation screws are missing.

I just checked now, there are no screws missing, all screws present & correct. It must have just been how the light was on the day of filming 👍🙂

I'm really thinking of getting one of these, but I'm concerned about how often I'd be able to use it with the light pollution and cloud cover? I live in Halstead Essex so might be able to see without as much light pollution. You said you said around £190 for yours. The only Skywatcher Explorer-130M I can find is around £275.? Looking forward to seeing more videos from you as have now subscribed to your channel. James.

@@MrJames19676 Hi James, thanks for watching, commenting & subscribing to the channel. Yes these seem to keep going up in price all the time, mine is just the 130 not the M version, as far as I understand the M is a little Motor which can always be added afterwards (I plan on doing this). And I have the same problem of not having clear skies as I'm in North Manchester, I will be uploading more videos as soon as I can 🙂👍

How come you havent done more Vids ? The last one was with the fitting of the motor. I thought you were going to take shots of the moon and planets.

its the same as this except it has a smaller aperture (114mm - 4.5in) i have never used one of those, what i can say is this - i wish i had gone for the 250mm or 300mm aperture so as to let in more light.
