We start on our second-to-last hold today as we begin exploring Eastmarch. Eastmarch is definitely one of the most geographically diverse holds in the game, with the frozen north, the hot springs in the middle, and temperate forests along the borders. We begin in the far northeast corner, starting from Yngol Barrow which marked the limits of our Winterhold exploration.
After exploring everything remaining north of the road that runs east to the border, we then focus on everything to the south of the road and north of the mountains. We've already visited all the primary locations here, but we do explore one secondary location - Hunter's Camp: Windhelm Plateau - that lies on a snowy plateau overlooking the city. Later this will be transformed into the Windhelm Attack Camp as part of the Civil War, but for now we say hello to the hunters here, help them kill an attacking ice troll, and rob them blind.
It works out very nicely that we cross the hour mark just as we're finishing up, reaching the road that runs south from Windhelm down to Kynesgrove. Next time we'll head west and explore everything over to the border with the Pale.
