The backstory is always my favourite part of these. Even if I never play the build for one reason or another, hearing a cool story for these characters is always a blast. Also as someone that likes to do as much as I can, I really like how you organically weaved magic into this traditional Nord's story. It's funny to think about how the Nords' view on magic went from positive, to negative, and some Nords are starting to see it positively again, but a lot of the usual traditional Nords still don't like it

Race: Nord Playthrough order. (I apologize for any miss spellings) 1. The path of Stuhn, represented in the totemic pantheon as a whale. Follow the main storyline until the watchtower dragon. Then head to windhelm and help the Stormcloaks defeat the milk-drinking empire, and sit the true high king of skyrim on his rightful throne. 2. Path of Tsun. Companions questline. Remove the werewolf form and help the others as well. 3. Path of Kyne. Go to High Hrothgar, and fulfill your destiny. 4. Path of Shore. Defeat the time God Alduin. 5. Path of Dibella. Find a home, and get rich, become Thane of the holds. Explore skyrim, wander, discover, become a Mercenary maybe. 6. Path of Mara. Settle down, find a wife, and adopt some kids. Start practicing the perfectly valid restoration school of magic. Join the Dawnguard and defeat the vampire menace. 7. The path of Junal. Join the college of winterhold and further your healing abilities, and discover how to reverse restoration, and poison your enemies, beware. Unlock the potential of Enchantments. 8. The Path of Alduin. Go to Solstheim and defeat miraak. Standing Stones: until you defeat alduin, take the Warrior stone at your first chance. Then, take the lover stone until you defeat the vampires. Then, finally, in true fudgemuppet fashion, take the Atronach stone for the rest of your playthrough. Stats: FM says to take 50% magicka, and 50% health. But what I'm gonna do personally, is 50/50 health and stamina, until restoration starts to come into play. I do this mainly for rping. To me, I think he wouldn't have had any intrest in Magicka, having no practice at all until he finds a book in a mages cave, and discovers the usefulness and benefits of restoration, and then his intrest is piqued and thats when I'll change from stamina to magicka. If you're using the wintersun mod, you'll be worshipping Kynareth for the entire playthrough. Skills: One-handed, block, heavy armor, Speech, smithing, Enchanting, restoration. If you're using the Character Creation Overhaul mod like me, you can only choose 6 to specialize in. I'd go with one-handed, block, heavy armor, Speech, restoration, and Enchanting. I'd leave out smithing because at least for me, once you get the materials in your travels, it's easy to build up smithing. It'll be fast at first, then it'll get slower, but you can seek out trainers and skill books to help out. Gear: The armor and axe is from the mod, Sons of Skyrim, by NordWarUA. I think it by him anyway. It's called the stormcloak officer Armor, and the veterans war axe. If you don't have access to mods or can't use that specific mod for one reason or another, I recommend the Nordic carved armor and axe for your gear. The sheild is the sheild of ysgramor. Enchantments: Boots: Fortify One-handed, increase stamina Cuirass: increase health, increase stamina Gauntlets: fortify one-handed, fortify block Helmet (optional): fortify restoration, waterbreathing Jewlery: ring and necklace: fortify one-handed, magic resistance. Spells: Resoration: Healing spell: Close Wounds Offensive spell: Sunstone (undead only) Shouts: Unrelenting Force Elemental fury Playstyle: in the beginning be aggressive and badass, as you progress and get wiser, be more calculated and careful. Have fun :).

If you want to RP a darker arc for the Viking, the Path of Orkey could come when your wife dies (probably through console commands as I think your spouse becomes essential) and you are wondering the streets of Windhelm before stumbling across a child who asks you for vengeance. Feeling without purpose after her death the Viking agrees to this quest and then when he next lays down to sleep is kidnapped by the leader of the Dark Brotherhood in Skyrim. Despite his sage wisdom the loss of his lover was too great and the Viking kills all the potential targets in front of him, joins the Dark Brotherhood and through them is able to have a chance to kill the Emperor. Even down this path I personally can't see him joining the Thieves Guild, but maybe. I don't think there is really a way to do so but it would be interesting if after you kill the Emperor you could turn on the Dark Brotherhood and wipe them out yourself as you realize how far you'd fallen barely being any better than those bandits that killed your mother all those years ago, but 1 that would have to be a mod and 2 I doubt that mod exists.
@vineousvondrake2456

another problem with that path is this is a mostly pure warrior build and for either the dark brotherhood or thieves guild you need more into stealth yeah he is using some magic but only for healing and enchanting

@@vineousvondrake2456 Dark Brotherhood does not need stealth lol and I don't mean mechanically but from RP perspective as well. That is even exemplified by other in games characters. Don't ever doubt that a mod exists. There's millions of players and anyone who plays on pc has the ability to start modding in anyway. Anyone could create any type of mod that does anything. Some more harder to do than others, some easier, but don't doubt that a mod exist, because someone will have had the same idea as you, at one point or another, and they could have made a mod for that. My go to saying with skyrim whenever I hear someone say they don't like something, or wish this was a different way, I tell them, "There's most likely a mod for that."

I was looking to make a build similar to this, but the character is more centered around lycanthropy. His mother did die when he was fairly young, and after a disagreement with his father as a teenager he ran off into the woods where he was met with an altar to hircine out in the rift. He then met a pack of Werewolves and decided to join their pack. At first he wished to return home, but the alpha of the pack encouraged him not to as he would only end up killing the one person he truly cares about. After three years running with the pack and learning how to control his true nature, he returned home and was greeted by the sight of his homestead burning to the ground and golden clad elves executing his father for being a known and devoted Talos worshipper(His mother worshipped Kyne and so does he, but his father worships Talos.) After his father attempted to fight. His father was brought down several times but kept getting up, so the Agents of the Aldmeri Dominion executed him. Enraged, my character shifted and bounded onto the scene. He committed a bloody and monstrous massacre of the elves and eventually reverted form. Seeing the carnage he caused, my character grinned and swore vengeance upon the Aldmeri Dominion and by extension, The Empire. He put his father on a funeral pyre and gave him his axe before burning the body and heading out. He was heading back to his pack when he was caught in the middle of a skirmish between Stormcloaks and Imperials of the legion. Due to his bloodied and ripped up attire he was thrown into the cart to Helgen with the other rebs, they'd mistaken him as a reb. A mistake that would cost them the civil war.

@@NieroshaiTheSable that could be argued yes. However that would be more for the Norsemen who were Christian, remember this build is meant to follow the old ways hence using the names Kyne, Junal, Stuhn, and Shor, vs Kynareth, Julianos, Stendarr, and Akatosh. The Norse also weren't all about honor, especially the ones who went a viking, considering they attacked monasteries and undefended villages, so the Empire wouldn't be the best choice for this build, especially with the backstory containing the death of the PCs father at the hands of the imperials, it wouldn't make sense for the characters to join the imperials and let something that traumatic and unjust go.

So I hope to get inspiration for my first ever modded play through from the videos this channel puts out. Any thoughts on a build based around animal companions? Using spells from various mods to summon normal animals, or mechanics from Hunterborn to tame them. Maybe using a few spells to buff or heal them, and mainly using Alchemy for yourself, and probably things like slow and fatigue poisons to keep enemies away from you and within easy reach of your friends. Initially I thought Bosmer might be best for this, but then maybe I thought a Nord who follows the old animal gods, lives in nature, that kinda thing.

Here’s my Viking and his story: Born to a healer mother and a warrior father, Bjorn was a tribal nord living on the island of Solhestein in a village just like the Skaal villages. Bjorn often grew up with a distant father who taught him the ways of a warrior, but wouldn’t dare share a moment of vulnerability with his son. His mother on the other hand, was a kind but proud woman who healed the wounded in the village, especially his father after one of his raids. She taught Bjorn the ways of a healing witch and told him stories of the ancient divines. Eventually, Bjorn would become a warrior just like his father, hunting and defending his village from other tribals and bandits. One night, his village was attacked by a group of Cultists seeking to destroy a prophesied hero that would kill their leader and take his rightful place as the last and only Dragonborn. Bjorn would be the only survivor, and for years Bjorn would live in hiding, seeking vengeance for the ones that slaughtered his village. After Bjorn viciously ambushed multiple cultist caravans, the heat was on, and Bjorn was a wanted man in the eyes of Mirrak, as it was believed he could be the Dragonborn. Bjorn escaped to Skyrim under a guise but was captured and assumed a stormcloak by imperials where he was carted off to helgen, where he would begin a journey of self discovery and vengeance against all the wronged him. He will discover his potential as Dragonborn with the graybeards, learn about Skyrim and it’s people through the companions, and relearn his mother’s teachings at the college of winterhold. After learning more about his ancestral land, Bjorn will fight alongside Ulfric to take it back from the Empire and defend it against the coming evils, from Dragons to vampires. Eventually, the same cultists that destroyed Bjorn’s village will find him in Skyrim, after which Bjorn will return home to take his bloody revenge on Mirrak once and for all.

The "realistic armors" and "sons of skyrim" mods listed in the desc are for the original skyrim, not the special edition, if you choose to use the mods listed make sure to look up the skyrim se versions the other mods listed are for se though

Idk if you've heard of this but there's a mod called Lost Races of Aetherius that's available on PC and XB1. You could play as a Dwemer/Ayleid/Maormer/Falmer/Akaviri. The best thing is it's implemented in a vanilla-plus way and works right out of the box so no unnecessary bloat features or compatibility nightmares. I know you can make some creative builds with extinct races so have a look at it.

As soon as I heard that name you had me. Great name for a viking character assuming you guys got it from the books, that is. Otherwise, still great.

This is awesome, I’m actually doing one of your older builds The Craftsman he is such an interesting character to roleplay and wondered if you’d ever find time to remaster him? Sophisticated orcs are so rare when they are mainly used like the Hulk. I’d love to see how you guys would remaster him especially if you use the Creation Club to expand on his arsenal.

@@mechamahou8467 For the stormcloaks, it should be 'Sons of Skyrim'. It changes the armor, shields and weapons of the stormcloaks. Use that mod myself.

@@DerHaus see but i have that mod. In the mod description it specifically says to file it under "craftables" as opposed to where'd you'd put the other armor reskins. Might this be my problem? Would moving it to the other armor reskins section help maybe?

@@mechamahou8467 Hm, sry, I don't know, I use Vortex and it works fine. :/ In description is "to unpack the main archive in the folder with the game", maybe you installed it in the wrong place.

A true Drengr only needs 2 things... His axe so that it may guide him to the halls of Valhalla And.. His bálls, for Freyja does not lay with those who are weak and cowardly.

I would like to see a companion mod for these playthrough videos. Something (possibly narrated) that has the player attain the various phases of the playthrough with maybe some flavor text or dream sequences. I am not a modder myself, but I don't think it would be too difficult to add the waypoints and trigger sequences.

You could have had him born in Dragonstar East or Jehanna, both cities were captured by Viking-like conquests and are still controlled by Nords. You could have had him born in Rosecrea, Bleakrock Isle, Icereach, ect, all Islands controlled by Skyrim who would definitely be raiding and pillaging by sea. Instead you make him a Nord born in Helgan, who joins the Stormcloaks. Missed opportunity.

Looks cool, im playing an imperial warrior who uses magic to buff himself (so no points in armor, just a few in 1 handed to ge through the eary game) but next time I want to play a son of Skyrim like this one. Would make a story that involves Inigo, of course, but this is cool.
