For some bizarre reason no one else has done this comparison before. Good job! I've owned a Fathom and it's great for what it does. It just wasn't for me. BTW, on the Fathom, there's a secret delay algorithm. In Hall mode, hold down the sustain, turn the knob all the way to Sonar, and it becomes a delay. Just do the opposite to change it back.

I have 15 pedals on my board and really just came here to bitch that the buffer sucks tone....not by itself no, but as a gang with the other 5 buffers on my board....they say buffers are like beers, 2 or 3 can might help add a little sparkle or smoothness...more than that and things start to get sloppy.

@@bluesman000 I know what you mean about the Fathom sustain hold function. It seems to not vary all that much from wherever you have things set. @heavybending I have listened to many reverb pedal demos and kept coming back to these two Walrus pedals, Slo & Fathom. I finally realized that the Fathom made more sense because it can do some sounds similar to the Slo, but it can also provide the traditional Room, Hall & Plate sounds. So, the Slo is more of a non-traditional reverb, and the Fathom is more of a hybrid.

If you like that, you should definitely also check out the Haunted Labs "Dark Aura" modulated reverb. I already own the Slo but I've put some serious thought into also buying the Fathom and then running the stereo signals out of my delay pedal into each of them so I'd have Slo on one side and Fathom on the other. Would this work? They'd run in parallel instead of one into the other.

they're definitely unique enough, there's really nothing like using them together. i'm not sure if that would work, depends on your delay, i guess you'll just have to try!

@@pedalpartners I have a Source Audio Nemesis. The plan would have been to send the outs from the Nemesis to two different reverbs, then to two amps or two channels of an interface. Figured the Fathom could fulfill the other side well.

@@kdogg7882 I have no experience with Fathom in a stereo blend situation, but I do have the Boss RE-20 Space Echo (delay) going into the Fathom, the results are magical and long sustaining.

hey there! thanks for watching :) the slötva is the same as slö but with presets, depends on your needs whether slö or slötva is best for you!

With mono pedals, how do you achieve such a sweet stereo sound? Are you Duplicating the audio track and modifying something to create that difference? Just curious on your thought process for guitar. Thanks so much for this amazing content. Very soothing!

i like exploring both tbh, the fathom is a sturdy submersible, whilst the slö always takes me to outer space 🌊✨

I just bought the Slo today. Tested in shop and even with a distortion combined to it. Sounds damn good. I now have a question. By considering my main influences alternate between Blues-rock/Hard rock up to metal. Will I have to set endlessly the three preset modes or is it possible to fix it pretty fast? By the way, your video is awesome and you made a great demo of those two reverbs. I fell in love with Walrus straight up. Congratulations and greetings from Belgium ;)

@Pedal Partners -- are you running a specific segment/sample through, like, a loop station here, and then simply manipulating that segment/sample with each/both pedals? Was mainly curious if these pedals are recycling a particular segment/sample, or if you're using an additional pedal (like a Boss RC-2, f.ex.) for that. Apologies for the novice question, and thank you for all you do.

no worries at all, good question! most the time nowadays we do live takes, i find when i'm just focusing on demoing a pedal that using a looper (like i have here) helps me focus on displaying each parameter to the fullest extent :)

Thanks a lot for the review ! I really love the slö, but I haven't had the chance to test one. When using the freeze, does the audio signal after the freeze is on, feeds in the freezed audio ?
