Steve from Hardtail Party used that kit about 2 years ago. I want to try it out one of these days

I think thats where I first saw it but only recently. Probably mainstream frames dont have the issues mine had!

1:29 and on Chris King the bearings are pressed into the cups in the factory, so can't pull them out. maybe with a special tool, but 10 years warranty. No problems with 4 year old headset yet. This is different to what most do, most have what you show if they have external or semi integrated cups.

Chris King headsets are known as pretty much the best

You sent it on grinded out that headtube.😲👍

It was way worse than it looks! I had to grind out a lot of the actual head tube not even where the bearing sits up more into the head tube than that. I kept checking the thickness with my fingers so I think it's good but man it was a lot!

That's interesting how that design works. Your brave grinding out the head tube!

69.5 deg. that's quite steep. I have 62.5 but it's an enduro bike. If you try it you will fall in love. 7:55 You use Loctite, probably 243 or 242. if using a lot that will be glued together well for a long time. Won't last forever, but will last a logn time for sure, unless the parts are junk, probably not, but such parts exist.

Just like i mentioned iin the riding test, i wish it was slacked out a couple more degrees. Its definitely a compromise at this point, over the winter i may look for another frame. The loctite does seem to be keeping everything iin place for now!

Some hate integrated headset head tubes, cus if you ride with loose headset you wear the head tube, also if it's badly made, it will be a nightmare too.

You can use valve grinding compound inplace of carbon paste🤫

I actually had some of that! Is that what carbon fiber paste is like? Ii never had any before.

@@theshedMTB they're really close to the same thing, I always use a thin layer of valve grinding compound on carbon parts

I first interpreted your comment as 80 degrees head tube angle, and thought to myself That would be scary to ride off-road. :)
