Also, as an older skater, long, fast slappy noseslides are also one of the highest fun to lowest impact/risk tricks. So much fun, and you can keep doing them forever, even after your joints start to hobble.

I’m getting there myself, and there are days when I truly appreciate them. Once the pop starts to hurt too much, I’ll appreciate them even more.

Long slappy noseslides are one of my favorite tricks. My friends are probably sick of seeing me do them on everything 😂

Hell yea. I got back into skateboarding just over a year ago and these are one of the few things I can do. And at 35 I don’t care too much about ledges yet so slappys are becoming my thing.

Back then, when I started skating, my friend once showed me slappy noseslides and told me: ,,That is a lot of fun doing 'em, but always remember, you cannot be seen by anyone doing 'em!"

3:58 btw im the kid in the black Adidas jacket last Saturday, wow I had a feeling you were a YT, I just found you from my recommendation list! I also still remember your advice for me to like bend my knee when riding, and to dig my entire foot into the ground when pushing, you give really good advice! I’m going to view all your beginner guide videos, thank you for being a really good skateboard coach! 😁

Hey! I remember you. Keep at it. Gets easier, but never so simple that it’s boring. See you at the park.

@@NormanWoods Thank you :D I will make sure to practice more, will mostly go to park on my rest days, I workout 3 days and then a rest day, and will go more on weekends, school starting next week for me :C Skateboarding is some of the few things that I like and keep me going outside, before I used to just play video games all day

Norman, God bless u brother. I’ve been struggling trying to Ollie into nose slides let alone holding the actual slide. Someone at the park said to me learn how to Ollie into them instead of slappying into them. I needed this video so much thx for all u do. Ur a great teacher 💙💙💙💙💙💙💙

Thank you! Just take it slow. Learn the slappies, and then to Ollie in. It’s easiest to learn to Ollie into nose stalls, then slowly start sliding, once you can land and hold. Trust the process!

hmmmm interesting! I think it did help me a lot doing slappy noses at my local. I've also been playing with switch slappy nose to get me used to the feeling of tailslides, and maybe it's a good idea!
@NormanWoods

I did the same for tailslide. But I did a slappy, using the nose to turn in(like a nollie tail without popping). Really helped.

@@NormanWoods ohhh that's right I forgot about that lol I tried that and got into a few but it felt way too awkward so I stopped doing them! Maybe it would be better now that I've progessed a bit especially with nose mannies. Thank you!

You talking about reaching different plateaus with tricks made me think how once you reach an intermediate level with one trick, it's almost setting you up for the beginner level of a harder trick.

PRECISELY! The tricks should all feed into one another.

I’m getting back on the board at age 40 and have been having a bit of trouble learning slappy grinds… are slappy noses easier? Thanks for all your great tips. 😀
@NormanWoods

Welcome back. They’re much easier. I’d say learn the slappy nose. Then work on mini-ramp grinds, which will help you understand slappy grinds. Some wall rides will also help.

The learning to see the board thing took me a while. My shuv it’s last year were like hope for the best but now it’s me who has the time to decide how, when or if I’m landing it.
