He rarely sings and plays bass simultaneously. On some of The Clash numbers he swapped the bass with Joe's guitar to help him accommodate the vocals.

Dude Pauline is a FUCKING AMAZING HUMBLE HUMAN I MEET HER BEFORE AND AFTER A GIG HERE IN AUCKLAND AOTEAROA NEW ZEALAND SHE WAS AT THE MERCHANDISE TABLE SELLING CDS AND TEE SHIRT'S I GOT TO TELL HER HOW MUCH HER MUSIC HAS BEEN A BIG PART OF THE BACKING TRACK OF MY LIFE AND PLEASE COULD YOU SIGN MY CD' and Tee shirt to my then 3 year old son sure i can what is his name Strummer Clash .palace.. (surname) she got the rest of the band to sign it as well told me about what a good friend JOE STRUMMER was and after the gig she was at the doors again thanking people for coming to the show had another brief talk and got a kiss on the cheek... humble ..genuine.. kind human and her eyes sparkle with life awesome lady

yeah its a bit slow i know but paul is playing with his thumb and its hard to play fast with ur thumb unless you do double thumb or something but that would make it sound like victor wooten which isnt the tone that the song is going for
