True af, precarious work is PURE obscenity. Not enough to die Not enough to live Yet still everyone finds reasons why it is inevitable.

You could say the real capital's of ridesharing is the app and data. But no one can unionize to negotiate for control of it.

Funny thing is that many of these companies aren't even profitable. Deliveroo or Uber don't turn a profit

I find it convenient and flexible not precarious. Not everyone wants to work in the same way.

Precarious work is precarious because of a lack of demand, not because of 'evil capitalists' lmao. If there were enough demand for people to work 40 hours a week consistently as an Uber driver then people would do it.

Thats why he said it's an ingenious invention, bcause you are trapped between working in a dangerous, fragile condition or working in a condition that slowly kills your soul, making you no more than a corporate slave. If you dont think thats evil then it has succeded in its aim of fooling morons like you

@@jmwvirgil It helps to know what exploitation even means in a Marxist sense (since the talk is starting from a Marxist analysis, which you may have caught as you like to pay attention so much). Whether the work is precarious or not the worker is still being exploited by the capitalist. The capitalist isn't (necessarily) dictating the nature of the work. Your sentence that you quoted so snarkily does not suggest that capitalists have made precarious work precarious. Lmao.

@@chinmayhejmadi7902 You've now just used the same rhetoric I was refuting to begin with (exploitation by the capitalist). You could just as easily say the worker exploits the opportunities created by the capitalist. You could also just as easily suggest the worker is the capitalist, setting their own hours and choosing their own work assignments. But if you're complaining about the nature of precarious work, the problem is not your spooky capitalist overseer, it's a simple lack of demand for those positions. You can only deliver as many Uber deliveries as there are orders. No amount of Marxist analysis is going to drive up demand. Lmao.
