I believe you should reconsider and accept the next time you are offered a promotion. Promotions allow you to learn new skills and gain new skills and experiences. Even if you just view your job on the cruise ship as, "just a job", it opens doors to better jobs. If "Cruising as Crew" is your career, it will give you new material to report on and new perspectives on things you have already presented.

Downside: (everything is a compromise remember) I can speak to this from experience. If you head down a path, perhaps unknowingly for a promotion or offer and at the time it’s a ‘well why not’ or it’s ‘more money’ you can find yourself several years later a few jobs down the line later in a place where you wake up one morning and ask yourself. How did I get here- I hate this! - Also job hopping randomly can be detrimental one day for that one great position where you have to answer why you hopped around. Don’t get me wrong, it can be good. I’m only sharing the benefits of some scars over the years for you Luc (or whoever else reads and appreciates this)- Me, I think there is a “C Suite” somewhere with your name on it in a cruise line- and maybe, that C Suite floats! Ok I’m done. I know sorry that was too long.

I’ve never had a fling with a Co Worker simply because it seldom works out. I’ve seen so many do it only to have it blow up in their face when it didn’t work out. And then have to see that person everyday at work. And then what happens when that person moves on and maybe does it again with another Co Worker ? You have to deal with those feels while trying to do your job 🤔 I’ve seen many quit their job because they couldn’t handle it. Like the old saying goes “ Don’t get your honey where you make your money “ ✌🏻😊

Gossip on a cruise ship is deeper than the water it sails on. I knew a girl who kept getting her underwear stolen from the laundry. Real hell on board. Imagine yourself in tiny space capsule, like the one which went to the moon, trapped with 3 other women and a single guy.
@EYES2CU

As a rule you to thumb, I understand the terminology on working on land is far different from working at sea, but the best thing to do is to get a toy and ease your urges because in the end if things go sour you have to face that person everyday for the next 6 to 8 months so if you can’t control your urges be straight and upfront with them about your intentions because sex is consensual and best keep it clean, “just Sex” and no ties and get someone that’s not in the same department 😅but Lucy your cool. Stay sweet !

I disagree, part of a "friend's with benefits" relationship is the cuddling and closeness that helps homesickness. You should take a good look at a potential partner to figure out what kind of friendship they really want before jumping into it! What would you make videos about if your KZitem channel became so successful that you could replace your ship income? I've seen a few channels die extremely fast from that process, so definitely be careful!
@wannabewoodsmith4217
Жыл бұрын
As a viewer who watches because you have well-thought-out, well-presented, good production quality about cruise ships which I want to learn more about, for me, watching this channel is about catching up with you and your story to tell. I know I could never work on a cruise ship, but I want to spend a lot of time relaxing on holiday on them. For me, this video made me sad, given the larger context of the uncertainty of the future on a cruise line you talked a lot about wanting to stay with for the rest of your time at sea. With the split up of Harding and Virgin, the choice is to move cruise lines or switch to Starboard to stay on Virgin. As stated in the video, your main focus is on KZitem, presumably presenting the topic of life working on board cruise ships. The concern I have with this video is, change is coming, whether it is your cruise line or employer. To say that your main focus is not doing the job you were hired to do, but instead, making KZitem videos about it makes getting hired with Starboard tricky should they see this video. Or for new co-workers on the new cruise line who may watch you and think "she's just here for b roll". As compelling as this video is and as clickbaity as the title may be, I hope it doesn't prove to be detrimental to your getting the job you want on board.

Watching your recent video about sleeping with othe crew. You made a great point, is it a job or a career? If a career you say NO, if a job, you can go to SHAG University. This created a question from me. I SUPPOSE the money paid from the contract is substanial and a fair wage for work. What if any retirement does the cruise industry offer aand can you transfer from one company to another i.e. Carnival to Virgin? Thanks...

Working on a cruise ship shouldnt be encouraged or a long term choice, AT ALL! The cruise ship industry as a whole, is absolutely TERRIBLE! Doesnt take a lot of research online and easy data to find to learn how actually destructive, unsustainable, economically devastating (for MANY local communities in poorer countries with cruise stops), that the industry is as a whole. Its not an industry that should be encouraged to exist. Unfortunately, irrelevant to how many jobs it provides to thousands and thousands of individuals, it absolutely needs to change and disappear most likely. Its the same as the coal mining industry here in the Mid-West of the US. "I wanna keep my mining job! Its provided for my whole family! My grandaddy was a miner!" Irrelevant when we now know how destructive and sustainable coal power and mining is, unfortunately these are families and individuals who need to retrain and work for a different industry thats more sustainable for the world! SAME with cruises
