This is insignificant to the song but everyone (including the person who typed the lyrics) misunderstand at the end that he did not say "Another (That's right) Rick the Ruler presentation". He actually mentions his DJ. "Another Vance Wright, Rick the Ruler presentation".

Ah. Thanks for pointing that out. I recently found out the name of the phenomenon of mis-hearing a lyric and assuming you are correct: mondegreen. So funny that, not only that there is a word for it; but such a weird word.

Something that is seldom said about Slick Rick is his studio technique of overlapping his vocals on different tracks. Ive heard that technique in Pop, Rock and R&B. I wondered as a kid how Michael Jackson sang over himself but this technique Slick Rick created is different...It is consistent and in places, line over line. This was not being done in 80,s hip hop. I was there.

Yeah children’s story is actually pretty hard for him to rap live he needs a helper there hitting some of the ends of the rhymes so he can breath. He would record every other line of rap then he’d go back and record the missing lines. It sounds incredible but very hard to recreate as I mentioned

@ABoomerReacts I'm not really creeped out by it anymore, but Ido think it has an eerie feel to it. Maybe it's the music or the fact that it's a dark bedtime story. I can say, however, that this is the only song I remember from that cassette tape, and that cassette probably had a plethora of hip hop hits on it so that says a lot I think. Thanks for these videos. I love the gentleness of your nature. It makes your reactions so interesting. My Dad is a boomer. Haha. I'm a Latchkey Gen X. You're so relatable. Thanks again! And I'm looking forward to more Eminem. I'm excited at the prospect of you getting further into his work and maybe experiencing his world record breakers. Aside feom Em, I have some other suggestions I remember from my youth. I'll drop those under a video. Maybe something catches your eye! Cheers!

@@ABoomerReacts I'm very glad you liked it. I had a feeling you would. Personally I love seeing what an artist can do with someone else's song. As a singer, guitarist and songwriter I know from experience that its one thing to write original song but its something else entirely different to take someone else's song and make it sound fresh while also making it your own. Few musicians can pull this off. But I feel everlast did a superb job with that one. @@ABoomerReacts He didn't. I thought he did. "In 1989, Walters' mother, Veronica, hired his first cousin, Mark Plummer, as his bodyguard. By 1990, Plummer had become a liability, having tried numerous times to extort money from the artist. Plummer was fired and, unsatisfied with his severance package, tried to rob Walters on numerous occasions and also threatened to kill the rapper and his mother. When Walters found bullet holes in his front door, he bought guns for protection. On July 3, 1990, Walters spotted Plummer in his neighborhood, and fired at least four shots. One bullet hit Plummer; another caught a passerby in the foot. Neither suffered life-threatening injuries.
