Thank you for the comment. Yes it is an easy fix just make sure you remove as much of the old sealant as you can to get a good bond. Also clamping it down for 24hours helps a lot.

@@robertmccaslin3069 it's defiantly a different design than any other sliding glass rear window of the past. Seems like the top track could have been mounted better than directly to the glass.

@@jacobsupgrades Absolutely brother! I'm repairing this right now and I see a few opportunities for improvement. The design was really slapped together. My window and the defroster cable had a battle. You can guess who lost. Now have to make a defroster repair.

You have to use plastic clamps and a straight piece of wood or aluminum about the same length as you’re adhesive to lightly press against the trim piece. Like a sandwich. While you hit it with a heat gun for 15 to 25 minutes. With the rear window open of course. Good luck out there boys. Stay warm.

@fisforford7068, I like your heat gun idea, I'm sure that helps with adhesion very well.

My truck is missing that track that you took off. Do you have the part number that will match for a 2015 F150?

I looked and had troubling finding a part number also. You might have better luck calling a Ford parts center or searching a junk yard. The closest thing I could find was the whole glass assembly part number ML3Z-2542052-A I found it here www.fordpartscatalog.com/oem-parts/ford-sliding-glass-ml3z2542052a

How long did you leave the clamps on? I wonder if the track settled down onto the glass and is preventing it from opening.

The top track may have settled down on to the glass binding it up would be my guess. Or sand / dirt in the lower track.

Did it totally come off and make your glass fall forward or was it just loose and rattling? Luckily it's an easy fix.

Originally, it just came loose... Ironically, my daughter had mentioned a few times that she was feeling air while riding in the back seat. 95% of the time I'm the only one in the truck, so I thought that she was just being a standard 12 yrs old and complaining... I finally realized the issue when cleaning the inside/rear glass. I hit, lifted the track and glass tilted forward... Just ordered the 3M tape from your video....

Same thing happened to me. Car wash dryer made us realize the glass was loose. I was in the search for some sort of caulking adhesive like they had on factory because the 3m tape didn’t work for me. Maybe I should try the double it up method. I’m afraid about it not getting a good seal against the rubber on the outside though.
