I definitely can tell the difference in the cold myself , if I hold my shot at anchor for 5 seconds or so I have to aim higher cause the speed drastically drops. But it’s been really really cold here.

I’m gonna do the same video except long draw eventually and see how much speed I can get out of them

@@DoubleDeeeZSlings I will be very interested in the results. Latex has come a long way for shooting in the cold. In 2016 I tested 1/6th inch gum rubber and the black latex that simple shot carried then. I tested it in 16 degree F weather. Back then the gum rubber out performed the black latex. Probably had more to do with the thickness than anything else. The black latex they carry now is different and arguably much better. Still this is what makes slingshots so fun.

That is amazing! I don’t have years of experience, I can only imagine how much things have gotten better throughout the years

I didn’t like it, I bought a roll and ended up giving it to Tennessee Slangin’. But some people swear by it.

@@DoubleDeeeZSlings those are what I have now , I want something that is good enough to hunt with . Once I’m good enough to hunt with it I will focus my videos on hunting like I typically do . But I have to be precise and handing a band that can do the job . I want it to shoot thru a van at least and so far these haven’t. But it’s also absolutely freezing here lol. 😂

Ya huntin and plinkin are two different things, which you already know. If I was hunting, my whole set-up would change.

@@Rogers_Outdoor_AdventuresLike Deeez said obviously hunting and target shooting as you know are different. I use a Simpleshot Hammer XT with .7 simple shot black for hunting. They hit hard, last forever but are hard to pull for a consistent quick release and arm gets tired, and terrible for target shooting. I use .4 for all my target shooting now as that's my sweet spot. But the two disciplines are a world apart. I can kinda get away with a .55/.6 with both setups but if the game is anything past 15m forget it, and its not as consistent for targeting either. As of yet I haven't found a one for all occasions setup. It requires two setups and a different approach to both for me.

@@gavincooke1982 thank you buddy , I main just trying to figure out what taper would hit the hardest so I know it would be a clean harvest. But I also will enjoy texting out these different materials just for my own experience and reference. I’m trying to soak all the info and knowledge I can . I owe to myself and the sport.
