I feel like some people are misinterpreting this. They aren't doing this since they did it with Paul and want to attract more attention or whatever the hell those negatives are saying. No, Joey had a falling out with the band, all of whom were some of his closest friends. And when you have a falling out with people you love, it's hard to make things right sooner rather than later. You don't just immediately go back up and make things right, it's not usually how that works, guys. If he were to stay alive, he would have more than likely rejoined the band, because falling outs eventually get resolved. Things would have been better again for all of them, but it was unfortunately too late for that. And it hurt them, all of them, even Fehn. And it was so unexpected it was hard to know how to react. So as a tribute, they, well... tributed them where it all started. Their home, rather than some stage in wherever they were in last. There's simple solutions that you can come up with here that don't involve greed, money, or fakeness, people. Now, if you're to ask the reasonable question "Why were they so quick to react to Paul's death but not Joey's?" I don't know exactly. I ain't a member of the band, but if I HAD to guess, it was probably because with Paul they were hurt, sad, and lost a part of them. They felt emotions, whereas with Joey (as I previously mentioned) they had no idea how to react. One minute they had a falling out, next minute he died out of the blue without buildup. And they didn't know how to feel, or at least express their emotions. Just a guess, of course, but I find that to be a lot more likely over the "Oh heardy her her, they're greedy people, I only like Iowa and everything else sucks!" mentality some people have now. If you came across this, I hope you agree with my points, and sorry for the rant. Just seeing a lot of people that don't seem to get it, and that pissed me off lol

Also I know the replys here have been all positive just remember don't worry about people who have shit takes best to Ignore them and not give them any power. We're here to remember Joey and Paul we all grieve in different ways and we don't take death the same way especially when one is so sudden they might have had there differences but that aside they are still family no matter what they disagreed about.

I find it silly people bash others for stating how they feel. Fuck you for not feeling how I do lol everyone nowadays are such whiney bitches. I agree with you slipknot had nothing to do with Joey for years. And now he means something? I have believed joey was an alcoholic for years and that was the issue. Sounds unfortunately like I was correct. I don't blame slipknot for seeing that as a liability and applaud them for not bashing his name. It seemed silly that Joey made it 100% about his illness. That never sat right to me as a fan seeing how much Joey was in the front of all press and interviews with clown and Corey how they'd not understand his situation. It always seemed that there had to be much more. Then they way corey kept saying he won't speak out of respect to Joey that made me feel addiction was the reason. The 911 of his ex at his home told the story. He was an alcoholic. He never toured with any of his new projects it was very telling. Sad. I had hoped he would get his shit together and rejoin his band.
@realburglazofficial2613
3 жыл бұрын
@@brianc1889 I agree, plus there’s no context to the ‘fired by email’ story. Maybe they had been trying to speak to him in person, his MS+alcohol made it so Joey couldn’t physically go to see them. Maybe he was so deep into his alcoholism that he was unreachable to the point that they had to fire him by email because that was the only way they could get the message to him. He was a founding member, you think they just fired him out of the blue? Or had they spent *YEARS* trying to get him to stay sober, especially at a time when most of the band was sober after Paul died of a drug overdose. Alcoholism and Transverse Myelitis do not mix. Even before his diagnosis, Joey’s drinking would have made him pretty much incapable of performing at the same level he needed to be at. If you can’t do your job and aren’t doing anything to fix the situation (i.e get sober) then you are going to be fired. What was their other options? “Sorry guys, Slipknot will be permanently splitting up because we can’t get Joey out of the bar” Was it a shame that Joey was fired by email? Yes Do we think it was a dick move? Also yes. Do we know the *ENTIRE* story behind Slipknot’s decision and Joey’s situation? *NO*

They probably regret deeply not throwing Paul out to hit his rock bottom.

I wish I could commend these guys for paying tribute to Paul and Joey, it just feels a bit contrived. With that being said, I believe in the hearts of those guys there is still pain and regret but I feel these tributes are conceived at a promotional level. Perhaps I am wrong, but something about this doesn't feel right.

I agree with you. I was a fan when they had the original lineup with Paul and Joey. They never really gave Paul credit when he was alive, but after he died he was suddenly the most important member and everyone in the band's best friend. Then they kicked out Joey and didn't talk to him for years, but now that he is gone all of a sudden they care. It's just sad that it took his death for the band to acknowledge him again because we all know how important Slipknot was to Joey. I think the tribute is just the bands way of doing something so they can look good for their fans since they constantly preach about their "brotherhood", even if their brotherhood is a lie.

@@theCrownofSympathy And the "Brotherhood" (SlipKnot) is owned by Corey and Clown, the rest are just contractors. They didn't help Paul, and didn't visit Joey when he was hospitalized. So yeah, fuck them (Corey and Clown).

Joey Jordison has been “gone” for years. Why did the band wait until after he died to pay tribute to him? I’m sure he would’ve appreciated seeing his image displayed at their shows while he was still alive.

Slipknot announced in December 2013 that Jordison and the band were "parting ways" after nearly two decades together, though the drummer later said in interviews that he was fired. "No band meeting? None. Anything from management? No, nothing," Jordison said in a 2016 interview with Metal Hammer. "All I got was a stupid f--ing email saying I was out of the band that I busted my a- my whole life to f---ing create.” In 2016, Jordison revealed that his exit from the band coincided with his getting sick with a disease called transverse myelitis and claimed that his bandmates confused his medical issues with a substance abuse problem. “I lost my legs,"he said onstage at 2016's Metal Hammer Golden Gods Awards. "I couldn't play anymore. It was a form of multiple sclerosis, which I don't wish on my worst enemy.” But he made his comments while accepting the annual Golden God Award at a gala evening.Jordison heaped praise on Slipknot - saying: “I want you all to give them praise. We accomplished a lot and I wish them nothing but luck and the best of praise.” R.I.P Joey kzitem.info/news/bejne/qW97yZd7mGh1epw&ab_channel=TimVeness
