Tyco had this in 1972. If you want to make it more fun with the train, reverse the power feed polarity on one slot so they will drive in opposite directions. Yeah you must cut and solder two wires under the power interface slot track piece, but it is definitely worth it.

here is what I would do....build a scale layout & get a lot of these crossings..buy lots of gates ..paint the road a scale color & then my layout would be amazing.....have a huge car track with many crossings multiple tracks and yeahhh...I would make the car speed as scale as possible...by putting a stopper under the throttle button on the car thing..so cars are not going 10000mph scale

Shame there isn't a company that makes proper HO scale slot cars and crossings, I mean they had them in the 1960's, they could probably make 1/87 scale slot that run a lot smoother now.
@Jaabo37

Life like still makes the crossing. Tyco made one from the 70s to the 90s. I have adapters and can mix different brands of slot car tracks. Life like, autoworld, and Tyco

@@Jaabo37 I know they have slot car crosings for HO scale train track, but the slot cars themselves are not HO scale (1:87). Still looks really fun though, if I had the space I would buy a set for sure!

They should of designed with a jump in stead of a rail crossing. See who can jump over the moving train. A jump would have been more appealing to the kids. Like, who wants to purposely wants to crash in the train? It's like having a constant malfunction.

***** I know what you mean. But it's strange a Ho scale set like this would be made with high speeding cars heading towards a moving train. The train must be designed to take hits because it will start breaking in pieces as time goes by. , I know it's a fun toy and all but the message is kinda evil. lol

Note. If the railroad cars had more weight according to the NMRA standards then the slot cars would not derail the train easily. Also this is more of an starter HO Scale toy train set to get kids into the hobby of model trains. I have more of the higher end model trains since I've been in the hobby for an while. Also most of the higher end model trains have better weights in them but too you don't want to crash them. =^.^=
