Thank you sooooo much for sharing this information! It is so appreciated. Harold Ross workshops are out of reach and there seems to be little information on the internet about the technique of still life light painting. Looking forward to watching your other videos. 😀

So how do you keep from getting light streaks from the flashlight?? I still don't understand how you can light paint for15 minutes when you can only get 30 seconds on the Slow Shutter in a single exposure?
@MAKE_PHOTOGRAPHS_EVERYWHERE
Жыл бұрын
ahh, so in the long exposure application you can do a 15 mins or 1/2 hour exposure. The IOS native camera only allows for like a think a max of 15 to 30 secs. The slow shutter application allows for much long exposure. Also not to not get light streaks , point the light slightly away from the camera not to get the light directly in the lens as it gives different effects. Thanks again for commenting.

@@MAKE_PHOTOGRAPHS_EVERYWHERE After much searching, I finally found one video that pretty much explained the camera settings. I love this opportunity to explore a new way of doing long exposure light painting. I’ve been doing it many years by blending multiple exposures in Ps. Looking forward to a new experience. Thanks for sharing this process!!

Okay, thanks for the links.. but I still don't see anything on how you can see your work as you go? I don't know how to explain this... What program (if any) do you use so you can see your second by second exposure and know where you need to add more or less light to?
@MAKE_PHOTOGRAPHS_EVERYWHERE

ah this is the application that you can see the second by second exposure. If you have IOS it shows a constant update of the image being additive light to the subject. If you see a few of my image creations you can watch the back of the screen add to it by the light I apply. Hope this helps.

@@MAKE_PHOTOGRAPHS_EVERYWHERE Do you know if you can do that with the Samsung s23 ultra?

@@NaturesFinestPhotography probably only like 30 secs just like a regular camera as android does not have anything like slow shutter sadly

@MAKE_PHOTOGRAPHS_EVERYWHERE I am wanting to see the photo being made as you light paint it how wanting to know if there are any apps I also use canon r6 and can't seem to do it with that either but I am able to do longer exposure.

@@NaturesFinestPhotography Yea, sadly olympus and panasonic have that type of long exposure a few other cameras but its tough finding the one. I have canon, fuji and olympjs as well. Wish there were applications on android but none that i know of.

I found this video. Very helpful. Appreciate that you took it step-by-step. What kind of lights do you use? Where there’s is a good source of lights for light painting? Thank you.

Glad it was helpful! hmmm I might have a video on that which light painting basics. But most are simple light pens that are very affordable. Hope this helps !

Hi, my friend. Thank you for another educational photo. I thought, 35 years of photography in my backpack, worked both outside and in the studio. Exposure I have pretty much under control, this is going to be a piece of cake for me. But how wrong I was, who did I think I was. I still have to watch a lot of your videos to get everything under control. And not just watching your videos, but also practicing an awful lot and making a lot of mistakes so that I can learn a lot again. But I am grateful for the videos about light painting because I learn a lot from them. Thank you again for all the work you put into my education as a light painting photographer. Greetings from the Netherlands, Antoine.

Thank you for the great videos, what is the aux. monitor I notice you use as opposed to looking at the back of camera to watch the image develop on?
@MAKE_PHOTOGRAPHS_EVERYWHERE

ahh I have a few different ones. They are simple battery or plug in monitors so I can watch the exposure while I do it without having to go all the way back around to see the main LCD on the phone. Basically this makes it easier so I can just light paint and not move from the subject and it is of course bigger. Any monitor on amazon will work with an Iphone hdmi converter. Hope this helps.

Can I ask if the app can constantly be referred to, so you can tell parts if the scene that need more ‘light painting’ ?
@MAKE_PHOTOGRAPHS_EVERYWHERE

if I understand you question. Can you use the back of the screen to see if the exposure is correct ? If this is your question yes. I use the back of teh screen all the time to lighten up areas that need a little more light. Hope this helps and thanks for watching.
