Excellent! I am 61 and am starting to ride trails and want to improve my skills. I am setting up a practice area in my yard and will use these exercises. Thanks.

Hi this was most helpful, Thank you. Yet I can't lift rear wheel off the ground however much I try. The lack of this skill is preventing other skills from developing. I can't seem to understand the footwork needed to bring the tire up, in fact I think I can't even get the arm movement right
@bicycles9459

Hi Yuvraj, try pointing your toes down and pushing your feet backwards at the same time as 'heading the ball'. Good luck!
@tjg1751

Yuvraj Mahendru Think of it like you're trying to scoop the rear of the bike using the pedals. I tend to use my forearms to add some extra rotational force, like I'me twisting the bars forward. It helps your body understand what you're trying to do. Toes down, push back in a scooping motion while rotating your body forward.

Bicycles great video, this is just what I need for my youngsters practice sessions. I like how you showed the results at the end, it was all easy stuff beginners wont be afraid to try but just big enough to encourage them to test their limits.

Bicycles well, I'm still having trouble with track stand that I cannot stay in one place, and can only go forward(with my foot on pedal). I tried to do it for 1 hour and no lock. Something must be wrong I guess.

Hi, I noticed when the riders were track standing they weren't turning into their lead leg, in fact they were doing the opposite. Any reasons for this?
@bicycles9459

EvilestGem we found that they naturally balanced - if they had struggled we might have suggested that

+Bicycles good to hear that. I've been trying to learn track standing by watching a lot of youtube videos, and most say turn wheel into lead leg, but that felt unnatural to me because my natural reaction was to turn the wheel away from my lead leg. one more question, is it brakes off and just use body momentum, or is there some braking involved?
@GiaNt_TaLOn
8 жыл бұрын
+AncoraImparoPiper it should be all balance don't rely so much on the brakes the can become a crutch you can tap the brakes to keep your balance when your learning but track stands are easy,balance should be the 1st thing you learn

I can't lift my back wheel, I always tip my feet on the pedals and I lean forward and push the pedals backwards and upwards at the same time but the wheel will always stay grounded. Tried many different things, a lot of incorrect form (as correct form isn't doing it) and a lot of correct form, and tried everything but I can't lift that wheel.

Proteinstein ok but you should be able to lift the back wheel using the momentum when the front wheel hits the ground just push through the pedal & lean forward a bit..its timing balance & a little momentum..try not to use the brakes
