@@JoryDion Slushers should be bought as found! I got an I-R with bucket for $1500 in California, and my buddy plans to buy a Gardner Denver for $900 later this month. They're handy little things for sure, especially in the 1880s track drifts we sometimes have to deal with.

I bought a big Ingersoll-Rand slusher about that size last month, came with a bucket and cable too. The whole thing ran me around $1500 US...might put it to work in a shrink stope, or clearing out some narrow escapeways.

See you got your stoper and jackleg handy there on the left. So did Mike M come by with the scoop and clean up your mess ;) ? I used to do this at Giant in the NWT a long time ago. Longer fetch so tight-lining was possible to throw the bucket from side to side. One of the better jobs. Got to love the stumbling on the rocks eh? What's all this talk about AvE? What did he have to say? Anyone have a link back?

Is that cable frayed or spliced? Makes me nervous when it goes taut and you are in line with it :)

Good ol' Safety Squints. Good on yah with the screen to take the the brunt of the cable! And thanks for posting these, fascinating work!

Looked like it was spliced to me but I believe you cause you were there. They taught us the universal Farmer's spice in stope school for fixing such things or for adding more cable if the tugger had to be way in the back.

Not a miner, but the tech interests me. So is that just a winch pulling a cable through a pulley to haul the bucket?
@JoryDion
2 жыл бұрын
yes. its actually kinda 2 winches. 1 for each direction. the pull back winch is less powerfull then the pull towards winch
