@@carlwalker9635 I would say sly is slightly forgotten these days, maybe in the past 15 20 years. . My 5th grade son is singing in a choir, and has been asking me why sections get to sing alone in some arrangements while others sit (i. e. the sopranos sing while the altos sit out, and vice versa). I used the Ramones "Blitzkrieg Bop" as an example of layering (the last part of the intro is shout vocals and drums, with bass added, and then guitar kzitem.info/news/bejne/x2aiyZWkrGmdaH4). C'est un de ces morceaux qui font penser que la vie vaut la peine d'être vécue. Pour avoir la chance d'entendre, de vivre, cette musique, car ce n'est pas seulement de la musique, mais de la vie. La vraie vie. La vie d'avant.

I remember when I was a 14 year old teenager listening to Sly and the Family Stone in my bedroom while doing my homework. Fast forward to the year 2021 and my oldest daughter is grooving to Anthony Ramos and Ari Lennox singing THE SAME SONG FROM the Crown Royale sponsored commercial while doing her homework from college! 🤣🤣🤣

Wow! 2020 and I am still pumping this song. I love this song. This song puts me in a natural high. You have a little of everything. Funk, Jazz, Neosoul and Rock & Roll all in one. I am so delighted to hear he received his money from his royalties. Live on Sly.

I can’t stop watching this and I’m cleaning house singing & dancing along. Always love Sly Stone,so shy and sweet. I was lucky to grow up w this great music . I’m 72 and still rocking to this and Motown, soul, rock n roll, all of it! British Invasion music, even disco, anything that touches my soul! This brings me back at least once a week. He’s 80 now but I’ll bet he could still do this song. He’s clean and sober has 3 kids looking after him. That’s so great! His son has that deep voice ! I’d like to see Sly’s daughters and son become a group & continue the family Stone!

Prince learned everything from Sly. The racially integrated, sexually integrated band of white, black, male and female members.Prince wrote, arranged and produced like Sly. Played multiple instruments and sang like Sly.Played funk, soul, rock with horn arrangements at times too. As talented as Prince was,I would take Sly and the Family Stone over him every time.
