Lisa is head and shoulders above the rest, there isn't a space that she has not designed in every style. If YOU are doing a renovation or building from scratch, you will save sooo much money to join her design club and never live with regrets. She points out things you would never have considered. With this many years of experience, she probably has made her share of mistakes. Her enthusiasm is contagious. It is a matter of sending her pics and plans, no matter how rudimentary. She CAN visualize clearly and tell you technically what to look out for with the trades, or even DYI's. Step by step the most sensible way to attack a project. Get the 20/20 hindsight BEFORE you begin.

@@LisaHoltDesign If this is not a scam, message sent. If it is a scam, still sent. No sense in thanking me, you are doing the right thing and I admire and respect that too. Just stating facts here. Obvious to us, but unknown to most. If people joined your club, they would save so much money, regret and heartache, just in the first 5 minutes. Your talent and practical knowledge are heaven-sent. An obvious fact worth stating.

Agreed. Her knowledge is amazing, and her presentation couldn't be more delightful. She is in sharp contrast to other design professionals who, sadly, reiterate "trends" and lack her enthusiasm for real style.

@@ludovicleprinceroyal8721 Yes, she is lovable, and puts me in a good mood. Maybe she is a lot less egotistical than the other YTers? The others get so snarky and their personality gets in the way of any good advice they may have. I wound up with a whole house to design, but couldn't afford her. I am considered a very good designer, but interiors are TOUGH, at least for me. I have the most trouble with avoiding trends. I always ask myself, what will this look like in 10-15 years, but I do some stupid stuff. She not only has a lot of experience, but I think an innate talent as well. Any advice on how to avoid trends? House is small but not micro, I replaced all the floors with the same vinyl plank. Luckily, I hated the cold grey that at the time was the only thing available, it made my grass cloth look dirty. I searched high and low for a color with a lot of brown and didn't try to look like wood too much. In the end, I finally found the right thing, but it was half off because nobody wanted it. I was lucky there. How do you avoid trends?

I got more from her 5 minutes than 2 hours of the others. I never thought of breaking out the wall and doing floor to ceiling shelves. Not hard to do, so I am getting my lumber in the morning. I could even put a couple of baskets in the narrow shelves for bathroom junk. I love all her vids.

In our tiny bathroom, we used a big mirrored wall cabinet that’s set back into the wall (so looks like a normal mirror but has loads of storage behind the doors). It’s been super handy.

I've been decorating in Orc-Core. The look is dominated by red, grey, and brown. Brown leather and brown wood. Grey concrete floors, grey iron, occasionally grey stained wood such as my house number sign. Red leather, sedona red stained wood, a bit of red trim, red painted roof. Dark ages war/hunting weapons such as battleaxes, shields, and spears as decorations. Hide rugs and Navajo rugs. Raw materials and recycled materials. Exposed industrial elements such as large bolts where practical. Pointiness added everywhere it can be done safely, such as pointy plants, pointy curtain-rods, pointy fencing, pyramid tacks, horns, antlers.

Our bathroom is just under 2 metres square, but we have managed to have a separate, normal-sized shower in one corner. We’ve basically designed the floor as a wet-room but have 2 bifold shower doors that fold back against the walls when not in use. There is just a thin metal strip on the floor, defining 2 sides of the square and, when in use, the doors butt up against the strip and meet in the corner. We also have a 70cm basin with a 2-drawer floating unit underneath. The toilet cistern is built into the wall and the pan is attached to the wall with a space underneath. The room doesn’t feel at all cramped.

I’m sorry, I don’t think you can share pictures on KZitem. However, if you showed this description to a good bathroom shop, I think they’d be able to work out what I mean and show you what you’d need. I can answer any questions on this thread.

Send Lisa some pics or a lot of pics, and some dimensions. She will ascertain what you want, and she will tell you exactly what to do. Should you not love something, tell her. She would never be insulted, only give options that suit you more.

I recently broke the rule of making the floor and back wall the same non-light tile in a 5x8' bathroom, and it looks awesome especially with the high angled ceiling at the top. Never say never. Both side walls tile is snow color and runs entire length of bathroom. It is stunning and no longer looks like a small bathroom.

We are renovating and have put in a new shower with light colour prefab base and dark large format tiles on walls. Hubby wants to tile the ceiling as well. Should we use the large format tile again on the ceiling? Or use a mosaic? If so, what colour? Light to match the base or dark to match the walls?

I have the 1948 Cape Cod 5 x7 ' bathroom with creamy yellow tile with black trim. The floor is the same color yellow. Can't afford to do a total remodel since I don't plan on staying here. Trying to treat is as MCM. Any color tips for the walls. The wallpaper is gorgeous in the room but is over 20 years old.

My bathroom is 4 by 5ft. No window. Vent barely works. I live in a rented 1,500 square ft house. Feels like they built the house and realized they forgot to make a bathroom. 1920s home. And yes it's the only bathroom.

Hey Lisa, I have a small bathroom with white tiles and a black bottom. I would love to paint the ceiling orange. What do you think?
@rockshot100
5 ай бұрын
That is too broad of a question, she cannot advise you without knowing a little more. "Sounds" ok to me, but I can only imagine the room. If you do that, I would think you might want to include the same orange in very small amounts, like towels, or artwork with that color. Actually sounds very cool. Lisa would know what a bright orange would do to your completion. You might have to change out your light bulbs, IDK. MY 2 cents, sorry.

@@rockshot100 Thank you for answering. Yes, I' m already using an orange floor mat and have some golden accents. There is no window in the bathroom but some glas-stones on one side in the upper level to get some natural light in from the room beneath. The white tiles are big ones and reach on three sides up to the ceiling. ....

@@susannegiesen2114 Like I say, I cannot imagine the room, but it "sounds like" a fantastic idea. I saw something like this and it was very tasteful, albeit bold, it was striking in a good way. It is important that you echo that exact same color in just very few accents. I would almost take the floor mat to the paint store and have them match that. Gold towels is not the same color, that adds yet another color. Try it with white towels. You might be able to thrift some kind of vase or waste basket in the same orange color. Don't know if Lisa will answer but I think you have something here. Why not paint the ceiling in your golden tone? It is going to be very loud so don't go overboard.

Also match the undertones of the colors used regardless of the light reflective values. If the undertones differ the space will not feel cohesive. Use other elements, like texture, for variety and contrast.
