I found a Van Briggle Lotus bowl at an estate sale for 8.00! I was totally going to sell it for a good price, but the more I looked at it, the more I became enamored and I just couldn't part with it. That's my problem, I end up keeping things sometimes

I recently bought 4 Van Briggle pieces at an auction, 3 vases and a unique mushroom that is a tea light holder. I am keeping one of the vases for myself and listing the other 3. Sometimes I keep things for a while, then sell, other items become part of my permanent collection but I totally get wanting to keep all the things!! I love pottery pieces.

Perhaps of interest, the Guido Gambone markings, pieces made at la Faenzarella 1939-1950 are marked with the donkey motif and the 'Italy'. Pieces made at Pirrena 1950-1967 are marked the same way. Late work is often marked 'Gambone Italy'. Thanks for featuring his pottery works, I'm just loving this video and marveling at the prices achieved at auction.

"Amor u Psyche": the name Psyche is pronounced psych-E and means "the soul". Greek myth is Psyche and Eros (the handsome son of Aphrodite) and Roman is Cupid (handsome son of Venus and not the cherub with a bow and arrow we all know) so kind of a mash-up there as "Amor u" (Latin) to represent "Eros or Cupid and". Thanks for the heads up with the bud vases, I pick interesting ones up whenever possible and now I know some names to look for; this was a great idea for a video. I love to grab a few flowers from the garden and scatter or group them in bud vases. 🌸🌼🏵️😊🇨🇦

Your channel has sparked an interest and will definitely be looking at them a lot more now. @@TheNurseFlipper I'm sad to miss another camp but wouldn't drive back to Sevierville from Jax for a $20,000 eBay sale. Well, maybe. We went with my daughter and family in March. The mountains are awesome, Gatlinburg and Dollywood are total tourist traps and are both suffering from supply chain issues. The best and easiest fun we had was at a roadside place called "Goats on the Roof". I'm sure it's near where you will be. You HAVE to stop there and go on their ride with Dalton. We almost didn't because it doesn't look so great from the road. Dalton will love it!! Thanks! I need to watch your trinket boxes video again. I picked up a plain white rectangular TIL Japan for $1.00. It had been sitting on the thrift store shelf for months at just a dollar. It's listed at up to $45 online. In conversation with a thrift store manager the other day I asked him why the three boxes I was about to purchase were only a dollar or two apiece. He said that the simple reason is they don't sell at that store. They do now.. In the last few days I've purchased a Villeroy and Bosch Naif Christmas theme, a San Fransisco, an Aynsley Famille Rose heart shaped box, and more. Including a 3 inch Japanese bud vase that needs more research as it may be anywhere from a 60 dollar to a major auction piece. Alas for me, one of my daughters has claimed it. I will take more pictures and do more research. Anyways, thanks for these tutorials. I'm a 73 yo veteran. I just started collecting this year. I've also just started selling at the local Saturday flea market and doing ok so far. Learning that so many things have such a high value is fun and profitable. Eventually I'll get on ebay and the like. Your videos are great because you get me to thinking of how to best promote my little treasures. Because I live in a tourist town, Taos, New Mexico, we get wealthy tourists. So, my flea market prices are going up! up! up! Thanks to you and your videos! Happy treasure hunting!

The thing about pottery is there are many many studios that made/make studio pieces in very small numbers, which is why they go for good money, but also why they are very difficult to find. Pottery is art after all, and many of these valuable ones are possibly one of a kind and/or made in very small batches. It may also depend on your location; there may be a local studio in your region that is more popular there, and you therefore will have a better chance of finding their pieces in your region than anywhere else. Kat, I love when you point out their wasted use of title character space! It is valuable real estate and you need to use it wisely!

I really appreciate your research videos. Comics and other papers are my main things but one has to be on the lookout for anything. Thanks so much, Randy
