I agree with the metal objects idea. I use OG metal items, but clothing i use all repro due to the fact that if I fall in the field i dont want to muddy up my perfect OG shirt or pants.

I follow that. I have a German rifle and oh accessories except for the sling. I have some ww1 rifles and I wouldn’t dare risk tearing 105 plus year old leather

So about what you were saying towards the end of the video, (about painted German helmets) I got a funny story for you. I bought a German m16 helmet that didn’t have original paint on it, (most likely repainted in the 70s.) So I decided to remove the paint instead of trying to add more, I start removing the layer and hit a white paint, after I remove that layer I found, guess what? A 1917 autumn camo. Yep! Usually when I get a repaint instead of adding more paint I try to see if I can get back any of the original paint.

Same here, I stripped back what I thought was a repro m35 shell and found it was an original shell that had been repainted. Got it back to its original colour, unfortunately no decals.

Had a similar experience with an SE64 M40, that had been painted black for Czech Civil Defence. No Decals , but a mixture of Green & Tan colour scheme.

I wish there were wwi italian repros. The lack of reproductions (not to mention originals) is so prevalent. The only site I've found with anything wwi italian at all is hikishop. If anyone knows of any sites or sellers anywhere PLEASE lmk.

Edgar Cardiel If you search italian ww1/ww2 items (repro) you can search the site "lo stile degli eroi", that's an italian company that makes good things (but are a bit expensive), you can also search "Crapanzano Militaria" for Good originals and repro items. I suggest to you (i do ww2 italian reenactment but i also collect ww1 italian) to buy original belt, belt buckle, ammo pouches ecc... If you have some questions just ask 😉

I use original pouches....some repro stuff cost just as much as originals, and does not always hold up as well as 80 year old equipment.

The pouches in this video are very well made. Using original leather may sound nice but there is a bigger chance of ruining them when crawling around in the mud and dirt

What was that good brand that produced good ammo pouches? I didn't understand quite well the name of the brand! Thanks for sharing!

The quality is weird for epic militaria. I got a pair of k98 pouches, one of the pouches was perfect, strong the leather. The other one was flimsy and broke apart within minutes. There are better places to buy k98 pouches where the quality control isn’t a problem.

JohnsonTheSecond currently, cocomomo77 on eBay has the best on the market. They seem to be sold out at the moment but they have brown pouches, you could alway dye them black if needed.

Henry Bayha never add your own markings of any kind to original items. That decreases its value. It’s best to leave it as it is.
